christianity is the real dead end, you spend your life worrying about what might come after instead of enjoying the time you have here & now is all you have enjoy it, & stop worrying about where you'll go after your dead, cause you may just find you go nowhere & wasted the precius gift of life..get high & celebrate living
Wow, very nice, I see. You must be getting in the "flame the Christians" fad on these forums. But I enjoy my life, thank you. It's so much easier when G-d takes care of you. I just don't want to get to attached to the things in this world so that they become idols. As a Christian life is very exciting!
i agree, i find it more fulfilling this way than before i met CHrist. I feel free! And it all comes back to love! And if i've lived my life for love, and die, and find there's no heaven (which there is), i still havnt lost anything, and i'd have no regrets.
I think Christians have it way easier than non christians. We are not trying to "live it up" all in just the mist that we live on earth for we know that when we die is when we really start to live. This world is constantly focusing on themselves and what they can do to find meaning in their life. If they only knew that its not for themselves but all for Him.
eh, i was gonna write a huge long reply to thins about how most of what i do is just me, and not because of Jesus, because i was doing it back when i belived in Krishna and stuff. And also about how i dont regret decisions i make [unless i am morally opposed to them, then ill regret it]..i dont regret, why, because i know if i didnt make that decision, i won't be where i am now.. the only think i wonder about is how my life would be different is if i never got diagnosed with crohns disease
lol thats my point, you say you really start to live after your dead? what if your wrong & you never really lived at all cause you were waiting till you died to start to live...& then its too late
soaringeagle-- i agree and disagree It is clear to me that most Christians are happy. Probably because they are not affected negatively by their arbitrary dogma. They are happy, which is very important. But they are not authentic. Conscious beings are confronted with their existence and [i think] are not pleased with what they see. A life that does not coincide with their massive Ego (lack of meaning). Feelings of forlorn are natural. While they may be happy they are not dealing with this problem of meaninglessness or emptiness or loneliness or whatever it may be. They instead use concepts of God and God's Love to comfort them. Its obvious to me (through direct experience) that there is an incredible sense of safety and comfort "knowing" that their is all powerful being that cares about me. But that is for children. There is a point where one must face facts, objectively, without desire. (God is improbable, if he does exist it is not to the degree or capacity that Theists desire.) Ryupower supports my theory: "It's so much easier when God takes care of you." It is, no one disputes that. The goal is not what is easiest, however, it is living with integrity, taking responsibility for your life. I am not surprised either when people say that the Jay man filled a void in their life, he gave it meaning. When people do not have the courage to create meaning in their own life, Religion is their to give them something that has an ultimate, undeniable WORTH and AUTHORITY. Theists give control of their life over to a fake concept, which actually means they turn their life over to church officials, whose track record in the history of the Christian Church is pretty shitty. Its just not wise.
& seahorse & burdot this wasnt so much directed at you, & ry, i dont know about you cause u seem ok enough generaly, just allittle confused maybe it was more directed at dan & jesusdiedforu & anyone else who cant have a normal conversation without quoting the bible, & who spend every momment worried about an afterlife instead of enjoyin g the life they have
i've been thru alot in my life i've seen there, done that everything to extreme christianity isn't a dead end it's a source of great power to alot of people you think it's a dead end because maybe it is, for you but you aren't the only one in this universe
I'm sure plenty of people find life easier being christian. Life was a lot easier for me when I was a christian, of course I was a child at the time as well, so that's more likely the reason why life seemed so easy at the time (at least compared to now). Just think about it, no fear of death, an invisible friend to pour your heart out to, all your dead loved ones waiting for you somewhere, and to top it all off you fit neatly into the majority - It's a christian world right now, boys and girls. Especially in the western nations. Just about anyone that I tell I am not a christian gives me a weird look like I am crazy or something, (not considering I just may think the same of them!!) like I am the first one they have ever come across or something.
i woulnd't say christianity was a dead end....i would say that christianity was a way to spend a big portion of yer life hoping death was not the end, instead of getting on and living it
Many people feel the need to have somebody to hate, somebody to tare down so that they can feel better about themselves. It is sad and hard to understand. I cannot figureout why folks cannot or will not have the kind of confindence in themselves that lets them accept others for who they are. Is it not rather hypocritical, walkingeagle, that you claim to be a "hug-aholic" yet your posts are so full of hatred? You remind me of people like Fred Phelps and Pat Robertson who advocate hatred and harm supposedly out of love. It is hypocritical and disgusting when they do it, and it is hypocritical disgusting when you do it. You do not have to accept or agree with the teachings of Christ. You (walkingeagle) have made it know that you harbor only scorn for such teachings; it is your right to do so and I do not oppose you in it. Many, however, find the teachings of Christ and a spiritual connection to him to be infinitely valuable, joyous, and fulfilling. Do not hate us for our joy, do not hate us for wishing to share that joy. Most of us do not sit around waiting for death, nor do we give it all that much thought. Personally, I have hardly a clue about heaven or hell or what they are. You may walk whatever path you wish, so long as you avoid doing harm to others whenever possible. But please, be big enough to accept that others have that right as well and that they do not wish to be assulted by you when they chose a different path.
One day every tongue will confess and every knee will bow that Jesus Christ is Lord.... Yeah even you...
Ahh, Pascal's wager. A lovely and fun argument. Here is a good link kiddles. http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/pascal-wager/
