    I'm not so much as borrowing this idea from Ledhed posted another forum, as outright stealing it. But since I am neither a hippy or young, I don't feel qualified posting a respond anywhere but here.

    (What Did I Do To Be So) Black and Blue written by Fats Waller
    Sung by Louis Armstrong, from Satch Plays Fats

    Cold empty bed, springs all thats left.
    Feel like Ole Miss, wished I was dead.
    What did I do to be so black and blue.

    Even the mouse ran from my house.
    They laugh at you and scourn you too.
    What did I do to be so black and blue

    I'm white inside, but that don't help my case.
    Cause I can't hide what is my face.

    How will it end? Ain't got a friend.
    My only sin, is my skin.
    What did I do to be so black and blue.

    How will it end? Ain't got a friend.
    My only sin, is my skin.
    What did I do to be so black and blue.

    I've Never Heard That One But It Made Me Think Of Strange Fruit Sung By Billie Holiday. That's A Great Song. I Also Cry When I Hear Moon River. Most Of The Music I Listen To Is Sad.

    Behind Blue Eyes - the Who

    nobody knows what it's like,
    to be the bad man,
    to be the sad man,
    Behind blue eyes.

    and nobody knows what it's like,
    to be hated,
    to be fated,
    into telling only lies.

    or something along those lines. :)

    Mmm, i love the song 'So Far Away' by the Dire Straits. I had a long distance relationship going for awhile and corny as it is, that song pulled my heart whenever i heard it. And i heard it a lot because i'm madly in love with Mark Knopfler.:H I also love a live version of 'I'm On Fire' i have, it's slower and sultry and **sigh..**. Not a huge fan of Bruce Springstein in general but that one gets me too. Music is so so good.

    Freebird by Lynard Skynyrd makes me cry.
    Indifference by Pearl Jam.
    There are lots of other songs but those 2 have touched my life more then others.

    *waves lighter* Frrrreeeeeee biiirrrd!!!!!

    ah i love that song. I never saw it as sad.... well only a few times. Basically, if I'm in a good mood, I laugh, and if I'm sad, I cry... Im too self centered.... :)

    then again i cry at stupid shit sometimes, so I have no credibility in this thread....

    I love Free Bird.... Skynyrd is a kickass band.

    ~~~~rock on~~~~~~
    Has to be this one by Fleetwood Mac. The words simply tell of a man that is going through a complete mental breakdown - which of course is exactly what Peter Green was going through.
    Man Of The World
    Shall I tell you about my life
    They say I'm a man of the world
    I've flown across every tide
    And I've seen lots of pretty girls
    I guess I've got everything I need
    I would'nt ask for more
    And there's no one I'd rather be
    But I just wish that I'd never been born
    And I need a good woman
    To make me feel like a good man should
    I don't say I'm a good man
    Oh, but I would be if I could
    I could tell you about my life
    And keep you amused I'm sure
    About all the times I've cried
    And how I don't want to be sad anymore
    And how I wish I was in love
    Written and composed by Peter Green
