Hey all! I am interested in using this plastic boning stuff to help make a more fitted/formed tube top, but I have never used it before and I am clueless as how it works. Do I have to make a little sleeve on the inside for it to slide into? Can I sew over it? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have used it. It comes in a roll and it has a casing. You cut it to length (a little shorter than the actual seam length) and then round the ends so they don't poke through. The pattern I used had me sew the seam allowance closed to make a casing and then just use the plastic part. It went in the side seams of the bodice.
You can use the casing it comes with as well, you have to sew it to the seam allowance, or right to the garment along a seam.

I had a strapless dress once that had boning in the front princess seams. That worked quite well.

You can't sew over it, it is thick plastic and you'd just break your needle.
