...by Dispatch. A great example of a modern anti-war anthem. My question: In these times of war and facist extremist rightwing neocons, why aren't there more of these? Why don't more artists speak out against war like back during Vietnam? I know there are some good ones. Rage and Ani are the first that come to my mind. What good contemporary anti-war/facism music can you name?
I've wondered about this too and worry it's b/c so many of todays musicians are nothing but business men who don't want to rock the boat. Hell man the Airplane were notorious for free concerts and played for the music. I read they refused to play at Woodstock at first b/c it was a paid event. How many are even in it for the music at all now? I think it's all about being a star and an idol and the music is a secondary thought. I know there are a few exceptions umm I think anyways. How many have the guts these days after the 60s where u had a Feds at all your concerts, breaking into your home. There seems to be the odd song here and there but even then it seems like a gimmick to sell to the youth wearing peace t shirts and hippy wigs. It's becoming a world of fear and money and it nobody wants the attention of big brother. Hell maybe thats just paranoid but listening to modern music I dunno man. peace Gentle ps sorry I had nothing to offer but I'm going to check out Dispatch so at least I got something out of it lol perhaps the next Britney album will bring back that CCR Governers Son feeling haha K Trout man thats so familair! is that a Philip K Dick character?
