favourite GD album

in the spirit of the favourite rolling stones album thread, here's a favourite grateful dead album thread

 

i think mine would have to be either Terrapin Station or In The Dark.

im sayin 'history of the dead'... amazing version of "been all around this world"... and a smokin cover of "smokestack lightnin". and one of my favourite songs of all time "dark hollow"... spectacular

 

a tie between the debut album & Europe 72'....both have classic tracks

 

gotta love viola lee blues man, id have to say that, when im playin geetar, thats my favorite song to play... hit a couple of versus then just go crazy with the G blues for as long as you want... oh yeah

 

Skeletons from the Closet wasn't on there. It may not be the best,but it's definately my favorite. That was the first GD I was turned on to..

 

terrapin station sounds horrible recorded and seems to trigger a lot of negative responses in me and lots of other deadheads. even worse is american beauty and any other recording they did probably, so i think im gonna go with europe 72 for now.

um, i didnt list it cause its a greatest hits compilation... of albums that are on the list

 

out of all them, its close between Anthem.. and American Beauty.

 

where is blues for allah and wake of the flood?? this list sucks!

 

blues for allah and wake of the flood are from '73 and after, and im talkin bout the original grateful dead, the base unit... which includes pigpen. and there is an other box...

 

Nevertheless..it's my personal favorite. Lotsa good memories..good times, good times...
