Ok so what program would ye recommend for downloading music? I've used a ton of them but they were mostly crap. I recently deleted Limewire because it was screwing up too much.

bittorrent is great if you have broadband but won't work if you're on dial up....the uploads will interfere with your surfing....you'll find that you'll upload much more than you'll download

i use shareaza plus, free...no spyware & can be used for downloading torrents

    yes it does but....

that large selection doesn't do you any good when you have to wait in a q for 18 days just to get a few kb of a file

I use bearshare mainly, and soulseek to find more rare recordings. i'd only use soulseek if i had a broadband internet -- soulseek has everything.

we use limewire too and we have dial up, upgrading helped the speed a bunch; still haven't chatted with anyone to see what they have, but a few folks have wanted to. JuJu is in charge of audio files at the hippiestead. have any Hip-limewirers run across him?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've tried pretty much all of them mentioned except Soulseek so I think I'll try that....
