How cruelty-free is your instrument? I just found out that the horse hair used in violin/viola/cello bows is from slaughterhouses http://www.johnson-inst.com/horse.htm (and don't get me started on cat gut strings ) If your piano has ivory keys... Most acoustic guitars (& some electric) use bone for the nut. I think flügelhorns are safe.
I'll be buying my own guitar in the near future (I'm using my Dad's right now) so I'll have to shop around for one without the bone
