I know how important technolgy is in the 21st century but I personally have had a lot of bad luck with almost everything I own. My Playstation 2's gone bust and doesn't work, my Dvd player keeps skipping on many of my favourite dvds and my family has already been through two faulty computers! I swear it's so frustrating! It makes me hate technology and ask if we really do need these damn things to live! You going to laugh at this aren't you?
I gotta agree with hippie1987, my playstation 2 has completely had it, and so has my DVD...it makes you wonder how many people up and down and around the world can say the same thing? The fact is, anything electrical will let you down at one point...lights, kitchen stuff, TV's. I suppose thats why i enjoyed staying at Faslane Peace Camp (scotland)... NO ELECTRICITY...NO WORRIES!!
If the DVDs aren't scratched, you may just need to have the DVD lens cleaned. What I can't stand is when they come out with a new encryption alogrithm and the old DVD player can't play the new titles (even if they are old titles). So you end up having to buy a new player. Not to worry, though. Once Blue-Ray and HD-DVD come out everyone will end up having to replace their old library like they did with VHS. I've heard that the very first gen PS2 and the thin PS2s tend to overheat.
no no man....don't go blaming the engineers and techies. If we had our way, things would work right. It's the management breathing down our neck, changing things around all the time, and being generally clueless. think Dilbert. if we geeks had our way, everything would be backwards compatible, and upgrades would be simple and cheap. Management gets it's way, so you have to buy new crappy stuff, that doesn't work as well, and will be obsolete soon anyway. /rant
