I am from Russian but now live in America, and can often find it easier for myself to get along with Americans and English rather than immigrants from my own country. My parents call me "Too Americanized" now. There are many things about America's way of life I don't like and have a hard time getting used to, but on the whole I like it here, love the people, etc. My husband is American and we are true soul mates. I think it is all about individual preferences and tastes. Sincerely, Sunny http://thetearoom.hosted-forum.com
Many westernized countries do dress the same. I would include Japan on this list because they have slowly become more westernized over the past century. But go a farm in Vietnam, and see what the people there are wearing, or an isolated tribe in the Congo.
I am an american and I agree with what alot are saying about cultural differencies and the educational differences. Someone had stated that we don't pay attention as to what is going on with the rest of the world. I agree with this somewhat,I know while I was growing up I really knew nothing of what was happening in other contries, what kinds of governments they had, I was pretty much dumbfounded of all that, until I got older and began to want to seek that knowledge on my own. The thing about America is its across the ocean only connected to 2 other countries. I really believe that the political figures in this country have an emense control over what they want the public to know and not know. We are not around many different countries, and forms of government. So as the American child grows up he or she is not exposed to many different cultures, religons, or governments. Which accounts for all the idiodic closemindedness in America. I am hoping as new generations of Americans emerge these insights may change.
