it has been proven that if every gas staion closed for one day it would bring the price of gas back down to 98cents a gallon. but the reality is that not even one gas station will do this. So we've decided to help them out. we've created "National No Gas Day" set for Septemeber 11, 2005, an easy date to remember. So join the fight!!! Please resist buying any gas on Septemeber 11, 2005.

"GAS PRICES STANK! DON'T FILL YOUR TANK! for "National No Gas Day", September 11, 2005!!!

please feel free to cut and paste this into an email and get as many people involved. it's time for us to show this government that they work for us!!!

Yeah it's a little late to get the word out in any appreciable numbers this year. And even if we could I'm sure Bush would find a reason why that would go against the Bible, or somehow benefit the terrorists. I'm sure those gas taxes and oil kickbacks contribute substantially to his offshore accounts.

2006 maybe, give us time to work on that slogan .... [IMG]

But to be honest, I might have given into the "you gotta have insurance and wear a seat belt, knowing how to drive is optional" mentality we now seem to suffer, and re-instated my driver's license, if it wasn't for this peculiar feeling I have about the administration somehow being responsible for these outlandish fuel prices. But that is a good idea, really. And if you can't help traveling that day, at least use public transit or carpool. Who knows, some might find those options aren't so bad after all.

this idea has been passed around for a while now, i just took it from an email and stuck it in a thread, in hopes of getting it to spread as far as possible. what better place to post it than a hippie site? though most people are too worried about their personal lives to get involved most times and participate. but they sure love to complain about how much things are getting out of hand. maybe one day each month would be a better plan?
