Killing

On this thread, I've been trying to make an argument for peace.

 

I'd say that it can be justified if you were president.

 

i think dick cheny should be protected by all means and all the poor unlucky fools in front of the amerikan death machiene arnt human n dont count .....hiel bush ...

i personaly have no such inclining ....i mean if asituation came up that left no exit other than defence of self or crew ....i wouldnt hesitate on dispatching someone ....but to go forth with the intension of doing someone in .....i cant see it ...rather chill on the porch ....

 

No. The life of another is one thing that no person is wise enough to be able to make a surely right decision. Your own life... fine.

But i guess when you stop to think about it.... what is life really?

 

I pretty much agree with you. But you wouldn't hesitate to kill someone in your defense? I would have a hard time going through with that. I mean, knowing the person is a living, intelligent being.

 

how the hell do you kill someone in defence... what kind of bullshit excuse is that...

knock em out.... struggle and run.... but you dont have to KILL anybody?!?!

 

i can assure u there are advarsaries that would have to be killed and barring any other way out is operative .....i feel youve led a shelterd life ....

any situation in which you would be where the only way out alive would be a situation in which you have put yourself in. (ex buying a gun, enrolling yourself in the army.)

Well I didnt read the entire thread... but given the choice between killing someone else or being killed, I would rather be the victim. If that makes me passively suicidal then so-be-it.

Another's intentions can never be fully understood until afterwards... and by then it's too late isnt it? I would rather die with the knowledge that I have lived a good life and done all that I can to stick up for what I believe is right rather than kill someone (who has up until that point in time committed no serious crime) and live in doubt for the rest of my life.

 

would you have much doubt if you were being mugged beaten and threatend with your life? I dont think theres much room for mistaken intentions in such a scenario.

 

Oh id definitely knock a blow to the face or struggle free etc etc... But like i said before there is never an excuse for killing another person.

 

well thats just not true . what if someone could have killed hitler before he had exterminated all of those people? would that be justified?
