Killing

Can the killing of another human ever be justified? Just wanna hear your thoughts.

 

And just what do you mean by 'justified'? It is my understanding that the oldest texts recording the Ten Commandments used a word that could be read either 'kill' or 'murder' and it was a somewhat political choice to translate it 'kill'. Personally I would feel little or no remorse if your actions left me no choice but to take you out in order to save the like of a friend or family member or myself for that matter.
I most likely would feel regret that I had not been on top of the situation enough to handle it without resorting to violence, but that I could deal with better than the senseless loss of a loved one.

 

Animals kill other animals. It's natural.

 

Well, I think that if you really hate someone, you're justified in killing them, yes. Also if they're ugly.

What do you mean by justified? I mean, if someone went through with it, they alread justified it to themselves right?

 

What I mean by justified is having good reason. If someone were trying to kill you in a rage, would you choose to run or stop him somehow? Would you choose to kill the person? I think non-violence should be a priority.

 

well, if someone comes after me, threatening my life, i'll be damn sure to try to save my life by killing that person....

 

True, animals do kill other animals, but the human brain has developed to a point where we can control our animalistic urges. We are not nearly as impulsive as other species. In other words, we have the capacity to realize that killing is not necessary.

 

I think my choice between my living and or my death should be priority and any means to make my living happen are justified.

 

Think about the two people you love most. Now imagine waking up in the middle of the night to both of them trying to strangle you. You've got a loaded gun under your pillow which you could reach. What decision would you come to? Would you kill both of them just to ensure you lived?

 

Running has never been a valid option for me due to an injury at birth. I would chose to stop them by any means necessary. As an accomplished martial artist I would attempt to divert their vioence or turn it back on them all the while trying to shock their center either physacally or emotionally to break their focus and open them to rational communication. If I failed in this and they were killed in the attempt I would consider that I needed more work on my arts. I do not consider myself to be non-violet, but I try to be non-aggressive.

 

Sorry about assuming you could run, but I'm sure that you understand what I was trying to say. Rational communication should be encouraged, instead of an animalistic fight to the death.

 

i think it can. like, if you have to kill one baby to save a room full of people.

 

I think that anyone that fails to pay child support shoud be put before the firing line.
There'd be a whoe lot less deadbeats, and a whole lot more kids w/ enough money to straighten their teeth.

see to me that argument is complete bs. Do you honestly believe whatever force there is governming everything, that humans are the only ones doing the right thing by not killing animals? Animals kill animals for food, how do you know this isnt the plan for us? Since animals kill for food, what makes you think its wrong? Wouldnt it seem logical that since we need meat, and other animals kill animals, that we were meant tokill animals as well?

 

In what type of situation would that occur? It doesn't make sense.

 

with the scenario of 2 people i know trying to strangle me - well, of course i'm gonna defend myself. i'm not gonna let anyone try and strangle me. but will i be more inclined to kill them? i don't want to kill them, but that possibility is still in the air. but it still comes down to me or them surviving. if you're willing to strangle me to death or shoot me or stab me, then you better be willing to die because i'm not gonna die without a fight, even if i do know you/love you.

now if it was some stranger trying to strangle me...then my main objective at that point is to kill him. i'm not gonna sit there and try to talk to them...thats pointless...he's trying to take my life from the get-go, so i'm gonna do my best to take his before he takes mine.

like if the baby had a bomb strapped to him and hes like im going to blow this shit up. If youre going to shoot down scenarios cause you cant think of a situation in which it would occurr, whats the point in arguing?

 

killing is nesecary .....hating is not ....as long as there are people , they will kill one another ....this has never been otherwise ....hydrogen bombs are another matter and living in modern usa is a fate worse than death !
