I dont know to tell you the truth... I mean, I have the ideals of a hippy....im vegan, im very liberal, i think way outside the box, i smoke bud,and use mind expanding drugs, and have even started dreading my hair. I live a very open and free life doing what I want and helping others when I can...so-on and so-fourth...and even if that catagorizes me as a "hippy" im not sure i want to take on the classification of being of a "hippy"why you may ask.....the reasons......were are sitting right now on a computer...right.....posting on a website..on the internet....all this 40 years ago would have seemed...well not even possible....or even imaginable...I guess that is what im trying to get at....we are a new generation.....new ideas...new ways...time changes....what our brothas and sistahs did for us in the 60's ...was lay the foundation for a lifesyle...an attitude and lifestyle we live everyday...carefree as it maybe no one can change it......so keep on livin' this lifestyle....because it is so pure and free...I am who I am and if that is catagorized as a "hippy" by people so be it....im just gonna keep livin' one day at a time taking in everything and everybody around me...peace and love sistahs and brothas............
your right....ive known this for quite sometime but im pretty sure not all people here are picking that up.....but who knows......
you couldnt be more right....so much knowledge for a youngster.....keep it brotha....your on the right path....peace
Perhaps not. Well anyway life would be so dull without the dramatic. I totally understand what you mean. It's funny isn't it, how as younger teens we strive to be hippy then as you grow and get close you realise it doesn't matter and you don't necessarily associate with it. Seems almost a betrayal of my young self. I haven't called myself a hippy for two years. Other people do but that's their issue. I'm just Sage. TTFN Sage
it seems to me that hippies, young hippies here, spend a lot of time questioning and pondering and advocating their lifestyle. I mean, you sound very peaceful and all, don't get me wrong.
these seem to be more of how YOU define "hippy"... either way, as long as you´re happy doing what you´re doing, then that´s all that matters
THat is not how I define a "hippy".... it is qualities that common amongst most "hippy's"(youth counter culture) today....Anyone can be a hippy.....its just a state of mind....a mindset on how you are gonna live your life.....A "hippy" to me is just that....a "hippy" and im not sure what that means...and im sure none of us knows what that means...and im sure that most of the brothas and sistahs before us didnt even know what it meant...other than that...they could be free spirited and live life the way they wanted to.......its just a word of association...like saying your republican or democratic...you may not share all the views of the party but you are associated with that term because you do share some views of that party......so like you said just keep on living the life your living and be happy........but MelvDoo i dont think there is a true definition.....I just share the views and ideals of a lifestyle...like you and many people on this website do.......peace and vision
it can be defined countless ways really, but the common ground of it all i think finding out what really works for you, and what gets you to where you need to be. it's not like a math equation, here, their are endless roads and answers, and sometimes, their arent even Any answers
What pisses me off is people who sit around telling people of their hippiness. Just go out and do it, if we're interested, we'll contact you.
