can i root a clone in hydroton?

or should i just get some rockwool? i made a bubbler system but i only have five inch pots and i dont want them to be too big. and i kinda cut the holes out of my lid already.


and where exactly do i neet to cut to get a good clone without damaging the mother or father i cant tell yet. maybe you can tell me that too?

 

Hey Howya doin Incog. Looks pretty good! You can root directly into hydroton, I been doin it for a coupala years now and it works great. Fill your bubbler way up on the net pot and you should see roots poppin threw yer pot in bout 2 weeks average. I dont know xactly how to access my attached immages department but I think theres some pics of clones rootin in netpots of nothin but hydroton. Yer plant might go a bit before you cut off her tho but if yer just clonin fer sex why dontya just top her now and root what ya cut off? It all depends on your needs and future plans tho. I guess it would depend alot on how you want your mom to grow. I always top my moms at about 1.5 to 2 feet.

i wasnt sure when i was supposed to take clones because i hear ...dont take it too early unless yopu want a small less potent plant. dont do it when she's in flower...blah blah ... but then i read somewhere that said you can clone two or three weeks before harvest ? maybe i dont remember that right but i coulda sworn it did say that.


so you think i should just chop her top off huh... i thought i should just take a leaf stem from like the middle somewhere . something that might be blocking light anyway. is that not a good idea?

Hey Howdy Negrow! Kinda lika Negro growin incogneto. Glad to make yer quaintnance. Ya wouldnt wanna clone a leafe stem. You want to cut off a growing shoot thats growing tops. Where you cut your mom will determin future growth paterns so where you cut depends on your specific mother needs. I usually cut pieces off that have at least 6 or 7 nodes and cut the bottom 3 or 4 lateral shoots off, I then cut the top 3 or 4 nodse' fan leafs in half to cut transpiration but thats just me. The way you cut depends on your tekneek. Blessins Brudda!

well lump for some reason they didnt seem to work out for me . so i figure i'd wait till i can afford a ec/tds meter cause the water around here sucks for hydro. i stuck my clones in soil and used a root stimulator . she looks like she's starting to bud eventhough she's been under 24. i just took the bag off the pot and watered with veg nutes . my mum has been in flower for about two weeks after flush. since i've never had a plant to survive this long i cant figure out if she's male or hermie. it looks like she is producing seeds but then one of them opened up. and there are white pistil thingys so i'm confused .

Damn Brudda . Just get ready to make some hash. I aint goty alottta speriance with males but that dont look nothin like any females Id ever seen. I figure its a male. As long as ya aint got no fems around for him to fukk up ya might as well grow him out to term and make some hash if ya got the desire and patients. Either that or ya can just kill it now and start a new grow.

 

thanks lumpy i have no problem makin hash , matterfact i've always wanted to make hash or bake some cookies and brownies or something. i got 6 other plants in veg right now and the suspence is killing me too much to kill the first plant i've ever had this long .
i'm trying to perfect my skills before i spend money on seeds so every plant i grow is a learning experience for me .
do you buy seeds if so do you recomend any in particular?

im drunk so i didnt read everything.
to clone you want to cut about 4 or 5 leaves below the growing tip. maybe three. expect 50% of them to root. you cant really clone succesfully while the plant is flowering. so do it before, or revegetate after you harvest. take about 10-20 cuttings, dont be afraid, as long as there is still abunch of healthyl leaves youll be fine. yo uwant to make your cut so that you have alot of stem on your cutting, not alot of stem on your plant (does that make sense?). if you didnt get a clean cut, make a second clean cut on the cutting at about a 45 degee angle. now set each of these cuttings in water and keep them out of direct light, but in the light (make sense?) you need to wait 4-10 days, yo uwill then either see a root or two comin out, or some moldy fungus. plant the ones with the roots. in a small styrofoam cup with looses soil, and no fertilizer. its tricky cus you have to keep them moist till they take, then you want it to dry out between waterings. good luck, i ususaully have about a 80% success rate and am completely organic. you should hope for a 40-50% rate till ya get the hang.

the first couple of picks the tops looked like female flowers but im drunk and not spending too much time lookin.

pollen can live along time and you wanbt to grow bud, not seeds, so kill the males before they impregnate your harem .. .uh . .. plants.

 

I recomend Sugar Shack by Prairie Pride from the Kind Seed company. Once you pick a good mom youl never have to plant another seed again. and Youl have straight up consistancy alla time. In general.

so, how long does pollen live cause i woke up this morning and theres lime colored piles of dust all over my plant. do i need to sterilize the closet before i put my other plants in?

Hey Howdy Negrow. It shure is tasty. I cant stand to smoke anything elce. I make my hash with a home made Bubble Can. I think I invented this ice hash tekneek. I cut off the bottom off a big giant coffee can after were done drinkin the coffee out of it. Then I get some big ruber bands and stretch the leg part of a pair of pannyhose ovre one end of the coffee can and I rubber band it into place. I get alla my worthy material dry and I cut it up like Im gonna roll it up and then I freez it. Then I get some neer frozen ice water with ice cubes in it and pour it over the trim in a 2 gallon ice cream bukkit(I like ice cream)and I mix it with an electric egg beater for 5 minits,then I let it sit back in the freezer for 20 min or for as long as it takes to get neer froze and then I whip it up again, I repeat this no more than once more. Then I set the coffee can in another 2 gallon ice cream bukkit and pour the mixt up trim stuff in the can. It filters threw the pannyhose and the vegetave mater get strained threw the pannyhose. You end up with a bunch of cold water and trichomes in the bottom of the ice cream bukkit. Youl see the trichs,theyr a goldish green tiny grained sandy lookin substance layin on the bottom. Syphon some water off with a piece of aquarium air tubing after it all setteled to the bottom, leave a bit of water to slosh around so you can dump it out into a glass bottomed pyrex(I use)and if you can syphon more water up do it but when it gets too close you gotta let it evaporate. -Im gonna make some hash later but with some fresh trim I allready got frozen, I never used fresh trim, only dryed, but It should give you an idea bout what Im talkin bout. Il tryen get some pics and postem here. I got some dry trim Im gonna hash up tomorow, mabey Il make a thread in the hash section.

Hey Folks. Didnt mean to take so long on postin them pics but I had fukkin probs like a motheer fukker. Bout 3 days ago rite befor I made hash we started smellin fukkin mouse corps in our wall so I just spent the last 3 days diggin shit out from walls,under steps,between shelves and around porch foundations tryin to get at the prize stench. No fukkin luck. I think its in the back wall but the stench is dyin down now so I dont think Im gonna dig it out,I allready lysoled it threw some phone jacks and a fyew other places that I accessed. Well annyhow, enoughf bout my dead mouse. I finally made some hash but I cant find my photo impressions icon on my computer to resizem so Im gonna postem at overgrow.com, sorry but I dont have to resizem over there. Im fukkin beat from the last 3 days. I had alot of shitt I had to let go because I got into a fukkin stenck diggin frenzy but I had to catch up with it all today. Thank God the oders dyin. I guess its dryin out and the lysol really did a pretty good job. The last time I reentered the house I didnt smell it at all till I got into the basement. Well anyhow enoughf of my stanky dead mouse.
