When I was growing up my brothers & I only saw cartoons on Saturday. Now you can watch them 7 days a week. We had cartoons like "Bugs Bunny", "Smurfs", "Slyvester & Tweety", "H R Puf-N-Stuff","Superfriends","Electric Company" and yes thank god "Sesame Street" is still on. After my oldest daughter was born we enjoyed "Fraggle Rock"."She also got hooked on "She-ra and He Man" Now my 2 grand kids watch shows like "Rugrats","The Simpsons", "Ed, Edd, & Eddy", "Pokemon", "Digimon", and other ridiculous shows that I can't think of now. What cartoons did you watch as a kid? What cartoons or young kids shows do you watch now?
Back then I use to watch The Smurfs, Fraggle Rock, She-ra, He-man, Ninja Turtles, Sesame Street, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, and My Little Pony. Now I watch The Powerpuff Girls, and Veggie Tales.
when I was a kid I would watch the Smurfs, fraggle rock, ninja turtles, reboot, beast wars, goof troupe, darkwing duck, aaahh!!! real monsters, talespin, ducktales, ghostbusters, garfield, disney's gargoyles, x-men,spider-man. now I usually watch any cartoon on the WB or cartoon network.
i was always partial to rocko's modern life and the muppet show. nowadays, its ed edd and eddy, dexter's lab, and everything on adult swim except the anime stuff. not a fan of anime. nope.
My cousins little girl is watching "Tom & Jerry" right now. I haven't seen that show for yrs when my brother used to watch it years ago, and almost forgot about it. My brother used to get a kick out of "Chip & Dale". Guess cartoons sure have changed since I was a kid.
omg i saw a rerun a couple of weeks ago - i had forgotten how hilarious it was (sorry to digress but the ALF movie is a must for fans of the show, def a case of so bad its good)
Back in Nov, 2001, I took a trip to mainland China. The tour guide mentioned only several years prior, thier TV started to show American Cartoons. He mentioned specifically Tom and Jerry. At first they didn't know quite what to make of it, then it became quite popular. In fact, American Cartoons are very popular over there.
i totally grew up on He-Man & she-ra, Super Mario Bros., Ewoks, Droids, Smurfs, Gi Joe, Zelda, The Care Bears, Josie and the pussycats, scooby doo now i watch The Simpsons (granted not a kiddy show), Veggie Tales, Spongebob Square Pants, scooby doo and the tapes of the old shows i loved as a kid, that's pretty much it
Anybody remember "Roger Ramjet" and "Super Chicken", from the late 60's. They didn't last very long, but they were funny. I think they were from the same group that came out with "Rocky and Bullwinkel".
