and in some ways it does when you think about it, the value of money is only so real as the belief of people in their government, if ideas collapse than certain "real" things collapse


so bits of reality are totally fungible, most of it is quite real, quite "solid" and quite true, but there are those bits of "reality" that are total bullshit that we only follow because they make life easier

 

somehow you're having trouble concinving me that bits of "total bullshit" are by definition reality.

and economic systems are real. whether they work or have any discernible value is besides the point.

 

they are only concepts, the math that makes said economic systems real and the systems (communism, capitilism) as ideas are real as any idea, but certain things that people religiously view as real, the dollar, is just paper, it costs less to make a dollar than a penny, so a dollar in that way isn't real


the paper is real, the ink is real

even that is mostly space though, and at the simplest levels everything is just energy

so really most of our perceptions as to what things really are just are perceptions some kind of method with coping with ideas much bigger than ourselves, fortunatly we have math to understand things beyond what we can personally observe
