If there is one benefit in suffering through the stifling heat and humidity of June through September in Florida is Thunder Storms. Almost every day in late afternoon there are the most amazing thunder storms for about a half hour - you can almost set your watch for it.
shit, in california, we are lucky if if rains. Thunderstorms are hella cool! whenever we have one (which is NOT often) my girls and I always go lay in the yard and watch the lightening and listen to the thunder.
If I were to do that around here, I surely wouldn't live til' my next birthday. Then again, I live on a golf course But truthfully, from where I am located in Southwest Florida up through Orlando is known as the lightening belt, and don't quote me on this, but I have heard and believe it to be true that there are more lightening strikes in this 'belt' than anywhere else on earth. It's pretty wild, but it only happens during the summer months.
There was a neat thunderstorm here the other night. It was awesome. Them are rare in these parts. I think I even saw a flash or two. But yeah, the weather was right for it: 70 degrees and very overcast.
lol.......Ya dhs, i would not recommend you to lay down and watch a thunderstorm specially living on a golf course. I have heard that FLorida gets a hella lot of thunderstorms. I bet they are pretty cool tho. (next time take some pics )
i love thunderstorms....really, i do... but they too often remind me of tornadoes and ive had way too many scares abotu them.... damn *lays down*
yea! I love our Florida storms. I think its the only thing I actually like about Florida. In fact...it looks like rain right now...
