    I can't help but wonder whats gotten into commercials:

    "Navy, Accellerate your life!" To me that just means die faster.

    "THe few, the proud, tha marines!" Well of course the FEW. Who the hell wants to join a system where you die faster?

    Don't take these ads at face value. There's more to it than just dying faster.
    You have a chance to waste some filthy Arabs and burn their villages down. Might even get the chance to destroy a holy site while muslims are praying in there. Let me guess, you'd rather be running through fields of evergreens barefoot while reading a book under a tree.

    hey now, my nephew Trevor is a marine. He goes back to Iraq the end of this month.

    my other nephew Nick is a marine, kinda sorta, well he is supposed to be one, but he uhm? well he is on unauthorized leave at the moment.

    Dunno, working the flight deck is up there....but at least no one is actively trying to blow me up....I think the flight deck theory is based on the fact that is as dangerous in peace as it is in war..I found it safer in war.....planes only fly for 45 minutes when we are training..they stay up for considerably longer when they are flying real missions.

    my uncle told me about this guy he knew who joined the army during vietnam. he joined because he wanted to "strangle an old lady and feel nothing"

    They slow your life down to almost the point of death then give you some busy work. Thats the acclerated part. True shit dude.

    its really sad to see those commercials actually work =( My friend is set on being a seal. hes all into ju jitsu and when i ask him why he wants to join the army hes like "dude i was born to fight" (yeah he can be kinda...off..sometimes) And you just know its those fucking comercials glorifying protecting your nation making you feel like a hero.
