am i the only one who marvels that the school system as it is exists if parents feel this way about sending their kids into it? that they're 'losing' them to a system that kills 'childhood wonder'? -z
if parents spent the time to teach their children realistically, included a little spirituality, and didn't lie from day one, and talked to them like human beings, we wouldn't have to worry so much. children can be taught to be imaginative and creative using their own minds. they should be taught free will and free thinking. personally i find fault in both the parents and the school systems in this day and age. it's one thing to let a kid be a kid, but another not to pull them off a breast. you might say i have a negative attiutude, but actually i have a realistic attitude, without the sugar coated fluffy bunnies and lollipops lies and stupidity. and yes i have a child, a highly intelligent, super imaginative, peace loving, non judgemental, self reliant, spiritual, little man.
(quote) In the world's view, my child is perhaps decidedly average, but today I'm giving you someone who doesn't yet know there is anyone smarter or stronger than she - doesn't know that there will be popular kids, nerdy kids, a slow group, a fast group. She's never been the last one chosen, or had the power to do the choosing. (end quote) Well quite. This shows perfectly why we need schools!
