i posted this in the young hippies forum too, but i feel i will get some real points raised in here! do you think communism will work in an ideal world. what are the pros and cons? and i was also wondering if socialism and communism are the same thing, i seem to get a bit confused there. discuss away...., love to you all, jennyflower xxx
Well the world isn't ideal. It never has been and never will be. But to answer your question, yes, in an ideal world communism would work.
Yea, Communism/Socialism has been tried many, many, many, many, many, times, and never once has it worked the way it's supposed to, and even if it did it would be shitty.
i think it works brilliantly in small communities and families. other than that, no go. people get greedy or lazy.
yeah, people are always wanting more, and yet if they had grown up in a land where they didnt know what extravagance was... well, you dont miss what youve never had.
Socialism in Marx's idea is a stage towards communism, but it has come to mean a society run for the good of the common people, without approaching the more extreme form of communism in which there is no private ownership. Marxists will tell you that communism in its true form has never been tried; that the communist regimes we have seen have all been bastardisations of Marxism - for example Marxist-Leninism in the USSR and Maoism in China. Perhaps you do need an ideal world for Marxism to work, and that's a big problem if your world is not ideal!
I don't think so. It would become very corrupt very fast. And in an "Ideal world" any form of government would work.
