A history lesson, Mr. Bush

I'm going to make this simple so you can understand.

Harry Truman was a good president except that he got us into a quagmire called Korea. He chose not to seek re-election.

Lyndon Johnson was a good president except that he got us into a quagmire called Vietnam. He chose not to seek re-election.

You have not been a good president and you've gotten us into a quagmire called Iraq. You are running for re-election.

Please explain yourself.

 

Because Truman and Johnson were not driven by personal religious fanaticism, like Dubya is....he is a man on a mission....his own personal religious mission....to turn the world into one big fundamentalist christian, corporate loving, democratized "Walmart" type of a world.


Bush is on the same radical, fundamentalist spectrum as the radical, fundamentalist Muslims. Both groups espouse their own view of the world in entirely different ways. Fundamentalists, like Dubya, don't often do the RIGHT thing, like not running for re-election. Fundamentalists do what they believe is RIGHT for their own destructive agendas.

I don't believe that Bush is as much of a religiously fanatical nut as people like to think he is. There are many people, such as myself, who believe that Bush is a phony Christian and is using Christianity only as a guise for his actions, and as a way to rally support. There are many idiots in this country who will always love Bush, simply because of the religious views he spews forth.

I feel that Bush is much less motivated by religion than he is by money and power, which is even scarier.

This whole fiasco in Iraq is not about religion, it's about money, power, and control. Bush won't be happy until he imperials the entire middle east and coverts it into a "Little America" of sorts, at the cost of millions of wasted lives.

 

lbj didn't get us into vietnam. he just couldn't get us out. bad decisions all over that s.o.b.

and i don't belive gwb is all that christian, though i pray (as a christian) that he'll make good decisions. pfft.

 

LBJ, ugh I hate that man. The worst type of person.

 

LBJ was a fucking terrible president, his "great society" is the reason that welfare and SSI are out of control. Nixon did more to get us out of vietnam than LBJ did to get us fully mobilized in it.

 

I haven't decided yet whether I think Bush is a hardcore Bible-thumper or just putting it on for show. Either way, I don't like either type to occupy the White House.

And yeah, LBJ was in many ways an asshole.
