I need help with lights. Like what kind of florescents tubes should I bye? How many watts? I just want something to get me started going for now. The stage Im at right now is the seeds are Sprouting now. Do I keep 24/0 light on them now? When do I stop that cycle and start doing the 12/12 light/dark? And once I get some Florescent lights, do I keep the light like 3inch from the top of the plant and keep moving it while it grows? I'm heading to Home depot to check out there Florescent lights. I could use a top-notch growers advice plz. Im new to this. danx!
honestly, i bought two flouros and equipment for it..then i decide to get a small hps with double the light output with only 10 more watts of power, it cost a lil more but i think the benefits will b well worth it. look into hps, ballasts can b picked up from local electrical supply stores for cheap than in stores.
Flouros are only effecient for starting seedlings and bringing them on. You will have no choice but to then switch over to metal halide or sodium to get a crop. Using special dedicated flouros is a must, such as power twists or the ones you can buy from aquarium suppliers as they have special spectrum balance to promote growth. All in all go with a ballast where you can swap from metal halide then to hps when you want to flower, ie, one unit 2 different bulbs.
i used the flouros to start them becuz it dosent put out much heat so u can get it right close to the plants.....as for the hps it caused a lil bit of stretching. but it was easily fixed. pictures will b posted soon, i had a sick plant and i didnt want u to see it.....ph inbalance caused the phophorus to join with the calcium and cause calcium phosphate. completely clogging the soil. so i flushed her and gave her some nutes. shes looking better but i think the ph is still a lil high wuts some household items to lower ph?
get your self a 400watthps with a son t agro bulb(all light spectrums for all stages of growth)this will increase your final yield considerably,
