i found a tutorial on the net about how to reconstruct t shirts, so this was one of my first attempts. i took a huge old band shirt i used to wear in high school, and made it into a halter top. very minimal sewing required.

i don't know the girl, but she's done some cool stuff.

by the way, i just noticed the kind of bizarre facial expression i was making in the first picture...i was talking to my husband, lol.

funky...i've been sleeping in my old band shirts. hubby started bitching, saying they were unattractive...he may have been right, they were all like 2xl, and had hair bleach on them. anyway, it was a fun way to wear them in public again.

good luck on the shirt, let me know how it goes. i screwed one shirt up, and had to throw it away. i was sad, it was my prized shirt that said "loser".

one problem for me...i hate collars so as soon as i get a shirt i snip the collar off and over time the neck stretches to fall over my shoulder (perfect fit for me) so theres not much modification i can do onces its stretched...i dont thingk :S

Awesome! I started to read this thread about 1/2 hour ago and now I have a cool little halter. I used this cheesy dark green santa claus shirt I snagged out of the little boy's rack at Goodwill last year. Sleeves and neck got too tight but the waist still fits so it was the perfect candidate. I took pictures (sorry about the crappy quickcam quality).

By the way nightmare, you're gorgeous.

hey, yours turned out great. i didn't want to cut into the logo on mine, so the neck turned out funny, and kinda bunchy, but the deep v neck you did looks better. i actually went to the thrift store a few days ago to try to find some cool kid's t shirts to reconstruct, but i didn't find anything cool.

oh, yeah, and your digi cam kicks my digi cam's ass. mine was some kind of giveaway. we got it for signing up for internet service a few years ago. i have to take about 10 pictures of anything to get one usable picture.
btw, thanks for the complement. lol as i posted on another thread elsewhere in the forums, i'm looking for a bathing suit, and am feeling a little pukey about myself. hahaha.

    Thanks :)

Egh, I love to swim but hate having to try on swimsuits. The lighting, the mirrors, the horror. Just remember, if you look half decent in a dressing room then you'll look amazing in natural light.
