Add some of your favorite cruelty-free quotes here! I'll start: "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals. The more helpless a creature is, the more deserving it is of protection by man, from the cruelty of man!" -Gandhi
ooh! I like this thread.. hmm, let me see.. well, for one, my signature - - "If slaughterhoses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian" (Paul and Linda McCartney) "The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were not made for humans any more than black people were made for whites, or women for men." (Alice Walker) "Lead with your fork, not your mouth." (Bernie Wilkie) "As long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be battlefields" (Leo Tolstoy) hmm.. that's all I can remember right now..
What is it that should trace the insuperable line?…The question is not, Can they reason? Nor, Can they talk? But, can they suffer?” –Jeremy Bentham
Live daily from judgement to judgement, deciding each case as it arises, as wisely and mercifully as we can. (Albert Schweitzer) Animals are my friends, and I don't eat my friends (George Bernard Shaw) I guess cows aren't into the four food groups, especially when they are two of them. (Anthony Clarke) The fact man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to other creatures; but the fact he can do wrong proves his moral inferiority to any creature that cannot. (Mark Twain) If a man aspires towards a righteous life his first act is to abstain from injury to animals. (Albert Einstein)
as soon as i saw the title of this thread, thats what I was going to post, but ---you beat me to the punch Im getting that quote tattooed on me written in Sanskrit as soon as I can find 2 reliable translators !
Franz Kafka, I think. 'The beef industry has contributed to more American deaths than all the wars of this century, all national disasters and all automobile accidents combined. If beef is your idea of real food for real people, you'd better live real close to a real good hospital' Dr. Neal Barnard 'He is a heavy eater of beef. Me thinks it doth harm to his wit' William Shakespeare from Twelfth Night 'We no longer enslave animals for food' Commander Ryker (Star Trek the Next Generation) "Vegetarianism is a healthier diet" David Stroud of the American Meat Institute
thanks!! For a few years now I was debating on exactly HOW i wanted to state my love for animals through a tattoo, and when I came across that idea I thought it was a clever one at that The only issue is finding a reliable source to translate it. I am trying to find 2 different professors around the area at colleges and such to help me out... 2 just to confirm that the translation from one or the other was legit. I'm getting my FIRST tattoo in 5 days... a dove with a banner that reads "PEACE" WISH ME LUCK!!!
