alright, i've looked around the internet a lot and really haven't gotten a straight answer, so i really hope some of you can help me out, im picking up a lot of boomers soon, and i was wondering if there was anything i could store them in such as tupperwear, or plastic bag that would keep them from losing potency, and if you have a method, how long do they keep potency for? any help would be much appreciated..thanks guys
If you dry them right they will keep for years without losing any potency You have to get them cracker dry Here's what you do: First put them in front of a fan for 48 hours This will get them 90% dry To suck the rest of the moisture out.. you can use a product called DampRid that you can find in the paint section of walmart/homedepot etc. You put the shrooms in a sealed container with the damp rid (NOT touching- this will ruin the shrooms) and leave them for another day or two. If you don't want to do damp rid.. then just leave them in front of the fan for an extra 24-48 hours and they should be bone dry. Then seal them up in two plastic bags and you're good to go! Make sure to keep them in a cool, dark place. The best way to keep them for a really long time is to vacuum seal them and put in the freezer. (Note- Do not put shrooms in the freezer unless they are BONE DRY - or else they will be destroyed) Fresh shrooms can keep in the fridge for up to a week.
