I didn't read a lot and I try to find good book. I'm not really the kind of person who read Fiction ( I hate it) and I don't like War story.I just want to read good book.
For some Quebec history - Maria Chapdelaine. Ashini was a good book too. In English - try The Hiram Key, Monkey on a Stick (both nonfiction), as well as Sonny Barger's autobiography. Then try some humor - the Wilt series by Tom Sharpe.
Confessions of an Economic Hitman by John Perkins is a non-fiction that unfolds the economic imperialization of america and multi-national corps, etc, over poor countries. he once was one of the people responsible for bring greater poverty to poor places, and has grown much since that time. also, Malcolm X, as told by Alex Haley I'm nearly finished with it I just got it a few days ago and have been totally glued And Hell or High Water: Surviving Tibet's Tsangpo River by Peter Heller this is a kayaking expedition that goes into the Tsangpo river in tibet. this river snakes around through the himalaya mountains and actually comes out in bengladesh, as the brahmapatura (sp)? This is one of the last explored places in the world, and was often a metaphor or thought of as a shangra-la, in tibet. It is both jungle and mountains, river with waves the size of small apartment buildings, etc, etc etc, some of the most amazing adventure reading i have found.
