I smoked pot mith a mildly retarded boy

last year in my grade 10 woodworking shop me and a few other guys would just kind of sit around and talk about smoking weed and what we did last weekend or what we were going to do this upcoming weekend. Now sitting at our table was another kid who shares the same name as me, he is a bit mentally challenged. Now i wouldn't say he was retarded, retarded people sing and dance in the hallways and pick their noses and eat the boogers. I'm not sure what was wrong with steve, maybe a severe case of ADD or ADHD or some wierd shit like that.

Any way we'd have steve sit at our table and play tricks on him, not mean tricks we weren't mean to him, we would just hide his pencil from him or draw penises all over his work books with chalk from the woodworking room. Any way I was always nice to steve becasue he was a real trip out, and one day he came up to me with 10 bucks and wanted to get some weed. So at lunch a smoked a joint with him, but he didn't get stoned.

A few days later my good friend who is also in wood working decided that smoking weed with steve would be the funniest thing ever so again i smoked weed with a mildly retarded boy. It really blew his mind he was mind, too bad it was during school i was pretty paranoid that the teachers would mind out and i'd be suspended for leading him astray. I smoked with steve on several other occasions since, next year i'll introduce him to bongs.

If you think this kid is retarded,mildly or not..you shouldn't be smoking him out. Plain and simple.

 

if he has the ability to make the descision not to smoke it's not a terrible thing, sounds like has that faculty, I wouldn't encourage it, but hell, retardation means nothing, just a different archetecture and a different baseline perhaps......

his retardation might not have anything to do with his ability to make descisions, so unless it does, no biggie......

man u guys he had an 87 in science and he's on most of my classes he's not that fucked up, personally i think i did him a favor. Imagine this, ur not quite right in the head, ur best friend is a 6th grader who's dad hangs around with ur dad, u never go out but desperately want to. Man taht would be absoulute shit. For once he went out and had fun with people his age. I'm not going to get all angry becasue some of u "bashed me", its jsut the internet i'd say their are alot of 44 year old men on this possing as 15 year old girls and flirting with guys. any way i'm just ranting and i realize my spelling sucks but guesse what i'm not going to read it over and correct it, its jsut not worth the effort. Haha i use to many coma's to but fuck it its summer i dont need to worry about punctuation. Well it seems i've gone off topic again. any way the main point is he had alot of fun, it only happend about 3 or 4 times and i remeber him actaully shaking my hand and thanking me. man there's no paragraphing in this either, its jsut a big block of words.

 

Though I don't think it was exactly the smartest move, I don't really think you should feel bad if you think you did the right thing.

 

There's a big difference between somebody with mental retardation and somebody with a slight learning disability. From what you're saying, it sounds like your buddy isn't either -- he's just a littely socially inept. For starters though, stop drawing cocks on the kid's books and hiding his shit.. you may think it's funny to treat him like that, but I doubt he enjoys it as much as you and your pals do.

I don't think what you did is wrong.. but I do think you did it for the wrong reasons. Smoking with some poor kid because you think it'll be funny, isn't a reason to introduce him to marijuana. He's prolly never had a lot of friends, so I think teasing him is kind of fuckin' mean.

 

Okay,I wasn't meaning to "bash you"...but if you reread your first post,you make it sound like you and your friends like having him around to pick on him or because you get some kind of enjoyment out of it. And you're the one that said he was mental or mildy retarded. So of course,I'm not going to think it's cool. I don't know you or the kid...I just based my thoughts on what you said.

 

Im not mad that he smoked with him, annoyed because he sounds like he only did that for his own sick pleasure.

 

I have a mentally retarded son. I know the isolation he endures as well as the teasing he has to put up with. He is only 6 but I have thought about the many things he might miss out on. However, I would never want him to experience being a part of the group for the pure entertainment value he provided the group. I can't imagine how crushed he would be if he knew that.


Also, since you don't have a clue what kind of diagnosis that kids has, he could have suffered any number of medical problems from smoking.

 

I don't think getting stoned is really fun if the people are getting you to do it. Giving weed to somebody is a bad thing, they need to get it on their own.

I'm pretty sure that the kid asked him for the weed, he didn't offer it to him.

lol um... I think you people should be reminded that you know the kid's mental situation way less accuratly than -steve- does. Any harsh judgments placed on his situation is just as 'retarded' as you claim him to be.

I get the impression that the kid is just a bit 'special in the head' but nothing serious. I've met people like that. They're perfectly cappable of being in charge of their own lives, living and being treated just like any other, more 'normal', person.

the kid decided to smoke it, its not like they forced him to. He did it under his own will so w/e if he fucks himself up(which I highly doubt, since Ive seen skitzos smoke pot and people with several other disabilitys smoke tons of weed, and come out with nothing seriose happening)
