I made this thread because the "Are you a nudist?" thread reminded me of something I think is very important. Before I do, let me explain my position on something.

I'm a Male Activist. In other words, I hold the following to be true: I don't feel guilty for being born with a penis, I am not responsable for the actions of other members of my gender (and if I am, then following that logic, ought I not be responsable for any horrible things women have done, since we're both humans?), and I don't think women are intrinsically more important beings than I because I disagree with the theories that they "Create life" (which they don't. Men and women, together, set into motion a process in which life creates itself), or are the fairer sex, or are weaker, or are in any way unequal to men (and hence strongly disagree with the theory that women deserve to be pampered simply for being women, that they should be on some sort of pedistal because they're women, etcetera the same way I don't expect to be treated special for being a man)

Yes. I DO understand why nudist places or any place would want to do things like not allow single male members, or do legal background checks on all male members, or make you hide a spontaneous erection. However while I UNDERSTAND them, I disagree with them.

Women molesting/raping/beating/verbally abusing men is not a rare thing at all. Infact, women are found to be FAR more likely to use weapons and throw projectiles at men (for rediculous small reasons) than men in a study (82% of abusive women vs 25% of abusive men, men are more likely to use their hands while women are more likely to think they need an equalizer and reach for a knife)

So what sense does it make to discriminate against men? None. If a nudist place of membership is going to refuse membership to single men, it should be refused for single women. If they're going to do background checks on men it should be ALL members. That is called discrimination (and if I ever experience this I will sue. I will sue if I'm denied entrance to a place for being a single male).

I'm not trying to offend anyone, especially women. I do love women. (I believe in equality However, I do not love being segregated for having a dick.

And like I said in the other thread. What if I'm gay? Me and my boyfriend can't join because we're both men? Now you're going to discriminate against men AND gays. Oh that's super. (But no doubt two lesbians would be no problem)

Making men feel ashamed for being men is rediculous.
Refusing membership to a man because he's a man is absolutely rediculous
Making a man hide a spontaneous erection is probably the most rediculous of all.

All three of these things reverse the goal of Nudism. It's telling me that I should be ashamed of my body because of what it's equipped with. The last one most directly makes men feel ashamed of what their body does. Great. Now that I've gotten over thinking I have a small dick, thanks for putting the shame right back by making me think a natural, completely meaningless and random event of my body as commonly occuring as a runny nose is something to be embarassed about.

Again, not trying to offend anyone. Many places are not like that, but there's a lot of places that are just completely fucking square. (And I'm definitely not shitting on Tarabelle's place, cuz she said single men can be accepted with a trial period, which is fine to me. I do still think that's somewhat discriminatory but I don't have a problem with it since I wouldn't have a problem passing this trial period and have no legal record... they're just trying to keep safe. There's a difference between being safe and discrimination/segregation).

I don't belong to a club or anything... I just hang out on a nude beach. And singles and couples are welcome :)

It'd be interesting for me to run into such policies; I'm not a man. Biologically, I'm male... mentally, I'm not. So, what happens in my case?

I assume you mean you're transgender? I don't think any of that matters when you're naked. Only what you have between your legs.

i hear yuh stalkz, there is quite a few clubs out there that are very discriminating to us guys. seems like we supposed to convert a chic to this lifestyle jsut to be able to fit in and get in. think maybe we should go to a few places with a lawyer and or the media and try to get in just to bring about some awareness to this problem and injustice. even the guys that are memebers of 2 or more national nudist organizations can't get in, and most memberships ain't cheap and its often a requirement to be a member of at least one to get into most resorts, provided you're not single and don't have a penis. as far as background checks> they should be done on all members, especially with all the couples these days getting busted for child porn. i agree with you on the abusive women thing too. in louisiana if a woman beats a man with a bat while he's sleeping and puts him in a coma, he'll wake up chained to a hospital bed with his restraining order clipped to his medical chart. i'm surprised nobody with the ACLU hasn't went off yet.

There appears in the UK policies at nudist clubs and swims that work against men. Sadly it is other men who in general have brought the policies about, because of their behaviour either in those situations or towards women in general. Single men (or two men as a couple) are often not allowed or there is a waiting list.

Contrast that with continental Europe where that is rare and the proportion of women to men at saunas and many beaches is around 50:50.

Even clothed people are generally accepted on nude beaches. I've never been remotely attracted by the "ghetto nudism" of the club/resort scene.

I've found in France and other countries that on nudist beaches a clothed person may be in a minority. They are accepted nevertheless.
