I've heard mad stories about these. Honestly are they safe, and what's the trip like. People say they're chemically related to acid. Is the trip like acid? How long do they take to kick in? Will they make your heart race?
Morning Glory seeds contain lysergic acid amide, or LSA for short. It's chemically similar to LSD, but the effects are fairly different for the similarities. I've tried LSA from Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds, and I have a friend who has tried it from both HBW seesd and Morning Glory seeds. He said he tripped pretty hard and that it was fun, but don't eat the exterior of the seeds! He threw up several times before the trip kicked in. (The seeds contain certain chemicals which your body metabolizes into cyanide, which will make you very sick if you eat them.) Use an extraction instead. Among the noticable differences between the two chemicals, LSA is a lot less visually oriented; you won't see as many colours and patterns (if any), and the focus is mostly tactile and auditory (touching and feeling). Also, check out http://www.erowid.org/ for trip reports and more detailed info.
LSA is the worst trip i've ever tried (twice, to be sure)--disgusting stuff. takes about three hours to kick in. at best, it's like tripping while being severely hungover. i'd highly recommend never trying that nasty ass shit and sticking to the LSD and shrooms. by the way, the first bad trip i ever had was off of LSA....
Ive wondered myself about different Morning Glory seeds. The Plains Indians i know used the root of a wild morning glory and it was used as a food source during times of famine. The Pawnee used this morning glory to treat nervousness and bad dreams. I wonder if they ever tried the seeds?! Any Native American people using this forum that could tell me more about this?
i enjoyed my experiences with morning glory seeds, smoke a little weed with them helps a lot i find. HBWR, maybe the seeds were bunk but i didnt get anything out of them. anyway, soak the morning glory seeds in water over night. then squeeze the husks of the seeds off, and save the innards. pile up all the innards on like a slice of bread with peanut butter on it, or something. the shells of the seeds make you sick as a dog, and the white innard stuff is what has the LSA, dont eat them with the shells on, speaking from experience, its a miserable time.
