Hey, does anyone know if CALM has/will set up at the Ithaca gather yet? The reason I ask is that I'm probibly going to go to a rock climbing class in New Paltz and want to check it out and bring some medicines and water if it's needed(what can I get? A pretty good amount of stuff, I'll be getting a few of everything). If I come down it will probibly be during the later weekends in August. Thanks Cassius23
I don't believe there's anyone on site now with anything more than basic first aid training. The three functioning kitchens (Shut...Eat It, Outlaw, ZZC) could all use basic first aid supplies. (Gauze, tape, betadine, peroxide, alchohol, silver sulfadiazine or other burn goo, antibiotic ointment, band aids, &c) Gatoraide maybe, if the dang hippies can get the water supply problem solved to the point that we're not all borderline dehydrated. If the goldenrod starts blooming, we might need a truckload of antihistamines.
I'll try and collect up a goodly amount(about 10 boxes or so) of Benadryl, I think I can get some callamide lotion, a good amount of neosporin(I think I can get 10 boxes, I'll confirm tommorrow when I have it in hand), some betadine, gauze, tape, band-aids, etc. I think I can also get some scar solution but I'm not certain. Unfortunately I'm in northern Jersey and won't have access to a car until next week so I won't be able to make the trip for awhile. Also, I'll check back a few days before I leave to see if dehydration is a problem. If so I'll fill up my car with water and turn it into a water buffalo with a motor. Cassius23 AKA Wraith
I and my friend are in central Jersey and considering going. PM me. If there is a water problem, which I hear there is, tea leaves are usefull. The problem is not with metals, is it? It's with germs and stuff from cattle farming. So boiling water is a way to make it potable. But it's not fun to drink. Tea leaves will get them to drink it. Getting people hydrated will prevent so many medical problems.
