Their songs aren't "trippy" you just have to be high to have enough patience to listen to them... and the fans, most of you might be too young to remember, but I heard this a lot "dude, they went from Franklins Tower straight into the Wheel, then back in Franklins Tower, it fucking rocked!"
I think Jerry was the man, he was a great guitar player. Just listenin to what you hear on the radio will never give a true sense of who he and the Grateful Dead were.
that sounds like hell on earth to me. i don't think there will be grateful dead in heaven....*snort* THE IRONY!!
I went to 5 shows so I can legitimately say: they fucking suck, only the drugs and gypsy atmosphere were good.
my husband said the only thing worse than a GD concert was a Phish concert. at least the dead fans had some money. (he used to travel from show to show selling bracelets.)
because it was fun to go, but not for the noodling music, for the lsd, for the experience it was worth it, not for hot dog man and the grandpas on stage. As it went on frat boys started infiltrating the scene, then it was really bad
I saw a Phish show too, sucked, too many college students posing as hippies, nothing real about it, and worse music. The scene was pretty cool at a dead show, there were people there that honestly had been on tour with them since the 60's or 70's driving painted school buses. I remember being trempted to hop on a bus and keep going after my first one.
but seriously, couldnt' they find something better to do than tour with the dead? talk about being stuck in a rut.
Why bother worrying about them? Everybody has there own "rut" be it there following the dead or doin there job or takin care of there kids.
I was listening to 'em earlier and I haven't been high in about 3 weeks...and I had enough patience to lisen to it...
Ya know everybody is goin to do something with there life its just up to that person to do what they feels the best. Whatever it is...
