i know the basics, like your emocions and stuff. but i either read or hear (or assumed) that a person with the same sun sign thats your moon sign will be almost unbearably attractive to you, in a romantic way if not at least a friendship. i agree with this, ive had tons of unexplainable attractions to libra men even though im a pisces, and all of my best guy friends are/were libras (which one of them ended up as my boyfriend). i know this post is destined for the occasional asshole who'll post something along the lines of "waste of time....shallow postings...astrology is serious..." etc, but i wanted to share this bit of info for anyone who can say they agree or whatever.
i've never heard that be4. usually, the story goes, that a heterosexual woman will be attracted 2 men who share her mars sign in some way (for example, say she has mars in gemini, she might find a guy with a gemini moon attractive). and for straight guys the same principle is at work but it's dependent on his venus placement. but there must be something in it if that's what u've experienced, 4 sure. maybe u have some planets in libra, or lunar nodes maybe? the sun in modern western astrology is given the lead honcho role because he represents central, masculine power. in matriarchal times the moon was the key luminary, not the sun, because of her power over women's sexuality and reproductive system. i honour both equally myself. but i do think the moon is more significant 4 interpreting personal qualities than the sun. the sun sign is shared by everyone else born that month whereas the moon changes sign every few days: so a moon sign is more personalised. in my system of astrology the moon represents ur past life achievments and signifies the basic foundations on which u will build this new life. say u were born with a pisces moon and an aries sun: it's very likely that in deeper emotional ways u will behave more like a piscean that an arian. your complexes, addictions, attachments and challenges will revolve around ur moon placement and not ur sun sign. this is simply because ur moon represents who u were last lifetime and will continue to represent who u r in this lifetime until u assume the new lessons that u have been born here to acquire and evolve into something else, someone new. if these lessons are 2 hard 4 u, or u r 2 lazy 2 learn them, u invariably fall back on acting out ur moon because ur moon is your foundation, like ur lineage. ur moon is what u intrinsically know about who u r deep down inside. ur moon in this case becomes more than ur lineage, she becomes the source of your addictions and attachments. the sun, by comparison, is the centre of light and energy for the solar system. he emanates power. but until that light and energy can be received by the moon and translated in2 3-D matter that is all the sun can do: emanate. i think ur sun sign describes what kind of energy u run on. its house will tell u where u will shine in life. hard aspects to the sun will describe how ur energy streams will be shaped, what blockages there might be and what natural free flows u can look 4ward 2. when the sun and mercury are together in the same sign (which happens a lot), or when they r conjunct, the role of the sun, imho, becomes more complicated because the energy u run on (sun) is also intimately mixed in with the way u think (mercury). the two functions then often become interchangeable: so u think with ur energy, and ur energy is ur thoughts. if u meditate u soon discover that ur solar plexus is the centre of ur personal power. here is where universal energy comes to u in physical form for its transfer in2 action and movement. here is where the things u suppress cause blockages 2 ur energy flows. so 2 get back 2 ur original q, and sorry i've digressed a bit, i can't say that i am attrcated to ppl in the way u describe: in fact i often get irritated by others who have my moon sign: maybe it's a case of seeing my own faults clearly in others or something. i have mars in aquarius and i do know that i find aquarian men very sexy. but that's ur typical uranian speaking now .
i can agree..I love aries woman...even before i actually know the sign..i'm like "shes an aries" and i turn out being right... so maybe thats why i am attracted to lots of sags, leos and aries and tend to unknowingly attract them to my life...maybe your moon sign attracts the element its in..so aries in moon means i am attracted to fire despite being a scorpio..maybe you have something. all i know is after looking at planet and house placements, ect. i have 8 fire, 6 water, 5 earth and 3 air..scorpio with aries moon cap rising, cancer desc.
okay, the mars thing could also apply, though im usually just pulled very fast into good friendships with my mars sign, capricorns (despite their nature to not share so much of themselves so quickly, which they have all said to me something along the lines of "i cant believe im confiding in you so soon, cause i never trust people...") but never [fully] romantically attracted to them (minus celeb crushes ) like i do with libra dudes, so i guess it is all in the moon sign then. i'll have to remember that. even though its seen as good for me as a pisces to have alot of cap in my chart, ive never really embraced it in the first place, i dont really know what it means about me. you said "heterosexual women" - so is astrology and the 'attraction faction', as i call it, different for homosexuals???
the more i think about it, the more i feel there's something in what u said about the moon sign seeking the same sign in the sun of the loved one. because if the moon represents the past and ur own personal lineage, then wouldn't it seek 2 be married with that same energy again in the here and now? the moon reflects the sun's light, no? so she's seeking to reflect what she is herself already but in a different state (reflect in energy rather than memory). just a thought anyway. the idea of seeking out what ur attracted 2 is shared by everyone, of course. but with gays, dykes, bi ppl, and also for some transgendered and intergendered ppl it's different because the attraction doesn't work by way of simple polarities: opposites attracting; in this case it's a system of like attracting like (bisexual ppl get to have both systems naturally). to be honest, not a hell of a lot is known about it, a lot of info is anecdotal and theoretical. my own view is that sexuality in everybody is a fluid thing: say it's like on a scale of 0 to 6, like alfred kinsey said, and 0 is perfectly heterosexual and 6 is perfectly gay. very few ppl would reside at 0 or 6 all their life. i guess someone has but it's not all that common. a bi sexual person would hover around 3, fluctuating up and down no doubt. i put myself between 4 and 5. without having some ability to be attracted to opposites i would never be able 2 have all the fabulous women friends i do, or oddly enough, without the ability to attract opposites i would have trouble identifying with the heterosexual male friends i've got, and i have alot of them 2. these fluctuations may be governed by a variety of factors: how the elements compete and compliment; is sexuality primarily expressed through water (emotions), fire (animal lust), air (mental attraction) or earth (sensuality) and in what combinations? every guy has 'anima': or feminine essence; and every woman has got 'animus': masculine essence. often what we seek externally is to make up for a shortfall internally. this idea gives u the stereotypical gay guy, the dizzy, limp wristed queen: lacking in animus, or the stereotyped bull dyke: having little anima. he/she seeks it from other men/women. but u do see lots of men who don't lack animus and they still are attracted to other men. i think sexuality is more karmic than this. it may be about finding an equilibrium of anima/animus or it may not. on a karmic level tho it is all about experiencing the other and the unknown. be4 this wheel stops turning we get 2 find out what all different kinds of realities and lifetimes feel like. i was no doubt a woman in a past life, and a heterosexual. black and yellow. muslim and jew. i was and so were u. to be gay now i think u get 2 feel what it is like to be v different in a society where one can be a lot more open about oneself than at any other time be4. and i remember being heterosexual, so this is a great help 2 me: i dont feel alienated from the dominant sexuality even tho it has tried 2 oppress me. this type of karmic lesson falls within the province of the asteroid pallas athene, the so called 'queer' planet. i believe the more we can be open and accepting to those v different 2 ourselves (and 4 me that means reaching out to straights and all kinds of ppl who are different 2 me, not just sexually) the more pallas athene will show us how these differences are mirrored in our own past life history. when u start 2 remeber ur history bells will start to ring. and u'll feel like ur soul has expanded a little bit. this is not an appeal to liberal sentiment btw. it's a way to help us to remember.
my best friend and "girlfriend" is a cancer... thats my moon sign.. i cant ever seem to get away from her ...lol..
i feel pretty dumb asking this but oh well, i know of your sign in moon, sun, zodiac, but now i hear of venus, mars.. how many are there, exactly?
Wow! I know my rising and moon, and what each dictates..(my 'outward' personality, my emotions) so.. what does the venus, etc. dictate?..
