Hi, long(ish) time, no talk. Anyway, I washed all that icky wax outta' my hair about 3 weeks ago and ive given up the conditioner. I have only washed my hair about 4-5 times with Pantene Pro V (im going to use the Knotty Boy Shampoo bar after ive used the rest of the Pantene). The bottle reads "CLARIFYING. Leaves nothing behind but healthy, natural shine". I was wondering if this shampoo is ok/good to use for my hair, to start my dread path??? Thanks Arron Peace.
Also, Ive just left my hair alone- just tied it back n left it. Is this good or should I section, backcomb n stuff?
Ok pantene saying it leaves nothing behind but a natural healthy shine.. well i doubt it because it leaves a natural healthy shine by adding things to your hair Perosnally i'd look into natural shampoo bars. I didnt even get knottyboy i bought it from a company called Lush. They use only natural products. so if your going completely naturall all you got to do now is wait... see you in three years it'll be a nice journey but you just have to forget your dreading you hair.
If you backcomb it goes a LOT faster. You comb the knots in and all they have to do is tighten and lock, and they look like dreads right after you do them.
^^ she knows wats goin on...... deffinatly no wax but what helps is salt water http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/archive-lifestyle/hair-tips-advice/425549 that should help...... k boy makes a a tightining gel (lock steady tightning gel) that works and leves nothing behind it comes out in a rinse i kno from exrerience!! just dip ur finger (just the bottom part... the part that touch the keys when typing get wat i mean??) in a little rub it in ur palms and palm roll it into ur dreads
Right, im going to section and backcomb...now all i need is hand lol, anyone? lol Thanks anyway, i really appreaciate the responses Catch Ya Later Peace P.S. Tool, ur nice! lol
yea go for it man! i would back comb it. i mean i think its still "natural" even tho ur helping it ya know cuz ur not putting wax or nething in it ur just back combing. i know its not 100% natural, but i think its 75% haha yea good luck. and hopefully u will find someone to help with the back and remember dont make too big of sections k ~peace +good luck to ya
Hahah, thanks. Oh, and tip - Make sure you backcomb them so they're like.. facing the right direction. I know, weird way to put it, but if you tilt your head down and backcomb the sections like that, then all your dreads will face the front. I made that mistake and for like, three months, my dreads looked retarded because they all stuck out forward. Your best bet is to get somebody to help you. Somebody with LOTS of patience and an eye for detail.
I thought this was a "NATURAL" thread/??///???? back coming I consider unnatural- maybe it's just me - I don't know- what is nature anymore?? I started my locks naturally in 1997 - an ex-girlfriend of mine once tried back coming in my hair but what Iit did was break alot of my hair - so I said stop that - it left my hair looking like a rats nest for a long time - my locks looked like shit for around 5 years then they started forming finally!!! all I had to do was keep 'em seperated - it took a LONG LONG LONG time....................I guess what I'm trying to say is that you should just be patient with it all - locks are a progressive thing and your spirit grows with them - don't over load yourself!
