I'm pretty unusual here, but my favorite Dead song is "Fire On the Mountain."

Everytime I decide what my favorite Dead song is, I hear a different one and change my mind.

    One More Saturday Night.
    Sugar Magnolia
Goin' Down the Road (Feeling Bad)
    St. Stephen
    Iko Iko

Awww, just go for it and listen to all of their songs. Both live and studio versions.

Start with songs like Ripple, Friend of the Devil, Box of Rain (my personal favorite), and Uncle John's Band. Then, once you really get into 'em, start listening to their live, extended jams (for example, the 23 minute Dark Star on Live/Dead takes a fan to listen to all the way, but it is one of their masterpieces) and also their earlier stuff like Alligator, Viola Lee Blues, China Cat Sunflower, etc.

Terrapin Station is a good album. The best track on their is "Estimated Prophet". Europe '72 is a great album. "China Cat SUnflower" is a phat song. Skeletons from the Closet, their best known greatest hits album is okay, but it has a lot of their way-to-popular songs on it like "Casey Jones". I avoid that song like the plague. Good songs off skeletons are "Freind of The Devil", "Turn on Your LoveLight", and "The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion".

Ahhhhh, man...is there anything better than the Dead and their music? Horse Badorties like a lot of songs by the Dead.

    Check my pulse/it don't change
    Stay seventy-two/come shine or rain

U.S. Blues, man. Make Horse Bardorties dance a dizzy mile when I hear that tune, man.

Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world...there comes a redeemer and he slowly, too, fades away.

See here how everything lead up to this day and it's just like any other day...
Black Peter, man. I've never met a black Peter, but I'm know this song here is too damn good to the Horse Badorties soul, man.

It goes to show you don't ever know/watch each card you play and play it slow
Deal, man. I love to deal this song some repeated listenin's.

Horse Badorties could go on, man. So many Grateful Dead songs that call their home in my heart, man. They live in there. They shine all day, man. It's all a beautiful thing, man. All, so many wonderful tunes to make me dance like a dingledoddie all day, man. I love the Dead...

No, but seriously, just jump in. If you're destined to like Grateful Dead, then it won't muchly matter. If you're not destined to like Grateful Dead, nothing WILL matter.
