Hi I'm pretty new to being a vegitarian, 6 months or so. But I have this slighly paraniod habit of makeing sure that no meat had accidentaly slipped into my plate. For instance I would be eating stuffed shells and I would be freaked out by the texture because it feels like ground meat and it makes me a little uneasy. But it always turns out that its not actually meat, still cheese... like I had made it. Any one eles have this problem? thinking that what your eating is meat but its not Thanks for reading
ya, last night I went to this greek place with my mom and aunt and we got this sampler with hummus and taziki(I dont know if I spelt that right) and this other sauce and it was red and I asked mom what it was and she sai i think its sun dreid tomatoes so I was like ok cool. then 2 minutes aunt goes I think theres fish eggs in that. its not the end of the world or any thing its not liek I did it on purpose. But I was kinda grossed out Ive only been veg for a little over a year now but I havent eaten any thing from the ocean since I was about 8. It just scares me
The first time I had a Boca Burger (soy) at a restaurant, I freaked out because it tasted so much like meat. Everyone else did, too (all vegetarians). We politely asked the waitress if there was some mistake. She laughed and said they get that all the time. :&
I'm not really paranoid about it, but I am cautious. Before I buy anything I read all of the ingredients very carefully, because sometimes there are meat products in things that you wouldn't expect. I hardly ever dine out, so I don't have to worry about that. But like letstakeourtime mentioned, if you do eat a meat product by accident it's not the end of the world. It hasn't happened to me yet (to my knowledge), but it probably will someday. When it happens I'm sure I'll be upset, but it's not something to beat yourself up over. I love that story, Spaceduck. lol Boca Burgers are awesome.
