lol... yeah, steffan, didn't mean to be a heavy. I meant that a professional poet must have had to work as hard to gain his or her prowess as a professional basketball player, or orator, or whatever you want... but I do admit that poetry can be enjoyable for its own sake, and also kind of theraputic for a writer...
Yeah. I think girls still dig poetry. I write poetry for the sheer love of the art. And I write songs for my band.
Seems to me a girl would dig having a poem written for her. Poetry may not be sucha popular thing, and I guess that even increases the meaning. If a guy has enough feeling for the girl to write a poem, something not often done, it's a good thing. Even better if it's a good poem (good being a subjective term). I'd also say it goes both ways, I think it'd be cool for a girl to write me one. Anyways, poetry may not be the most popular thing, and when it is seen it's often bastardized, commercialized hallmark tripe, but I enjoy writing and reading it. I for one still like older stuff, like Blake and Poe and Shakespeare. The old forms are still good in my book.
I also admire those who can do so,but personally,i think i suck at writing poetry,no matter how much i love it.
