I read a book called "DMT The spiritual molecule" by Rick Strassman. Ive never tried DMT and I was wondering about your experience if youve tried it. Alot of peoples experiences in the book said the trip had aliens, and different looking creatures. I was wondering if maybe certain psychedelics could let you see a parallel universe.... if you think thats true that they are out there. Just wondering your expereince and thoughts on it.

    Peace

i heard dmt was a bad trip. i definitaly think that drugs open up your mind to a different world and a different reality. if you read aldous huxley's the doors of perception (you can find versions of it online) he describes the brain as a reducing value to the outer world, i was kind of pissed at my brain after reading that book.

I assume you are speaking of the chemical "5.m.e.o-dmt"....yes its a trip... no aliens.. trips are extremely dependant on your own psychosis... me.. i was... and nothing more...

There is some speculation that the levels of 5meo-DMT in extracellular fluids have something to do with schizophrenia. There has never been an experimental research design used to demonstrate a cause and effect relation between DMT and schizophrenia. This does not mean that the connection does not exist, just that the proper tests have never been done. There were some tests, I believe, that showed consistantly higher levels of 5meo-DMT in schizophrenics during psychotic episodes. It is unclear wether the release of DMT into the extracellular fluid is the cause or the result of the psychotic episode. Now if it is true that 5meo-DMT is present in unusual amounts during psychotic episodes then to me it seems obvious that there is some kind of connection, it is not obvious though what the nature of this connection is. Also I think several different types of DMT are present in humans naturally, not just 5meo. I have never ingested 5meo-DMT, but I did ingest N-N-DMT. It was incredible. I saw abandoned cities, and temples, but I did not see any of the alien life forms that so many people who have smoked DMT talk about. I ingested it in the form of a tea.

Some say schizophrenic behavior might be a sane reaction to the coercions of an insane soceity

Some would say that, but those that do don't know many schizophrenics.

you don't have to be schizophrenic to exhibit what some would classify as schizophrenic "behavior"

This is very true. I have read alot of interviews with schizophrenics, and alot of what they say is exactly what I have been saying about reality for quite some time. I guess the difference between a diagnosed schizophrenic and myself is that I can cope with reality whereas they have trouble coping.

DMT is in your brain and is released prior to death. So everybody experiences it.

In Jim Decorne's book "Psychedelic Shamanism", there's some interesting text about DMT.
Like, everything, that you experience is experienced the way it is thanks to a molecul in your brain, that is very similar to DMT molecul.
And when you do DMT, then these moleculs in your brain are pushed away by DMT. And then you experience some different world.

Now... when these moleculs in your brain and DMT are similar, then it can be said, that this world is nothing more, than an illusion, experienced by a hallucinogenic drug.
And then it's like, which world then is the true one? Or is there a true world afterall? Is there a world? Or are we in the middle of nothing and think we experience something...
