My friend gave me some old curtains and I made these The skirt didn't come out very well, but after attempts to adjust it I gave in and decided to let it be what it wanted - different! I love the apron top though, it's the third I've made and now I can't stop! I want to put some sort of pattern or applique on the skirt but I'm out of ideas! Can any of you lovely guys throw some ideas at me
Oh yeah, my darling husband told me it looks like a bridesmaid's dress! That's why I need some sort of pattern!
wooho. You are really a good designer ;-) But it seems that the clothes are too thick , it is very heavy
I like it alot..remember..sometimes simplicity is best. I'd do something along the bottom..vines with birds or something like that. Then a small leaf on the bodice...
oo i really love it! but i agree with cre, i would put some kind of aplique or embroirdery on the bottom that would be RELLY cute!
Simple and sweet. Maybe with a little wear/washing it will drape more. An eyelet ruffle at the bottom might be cute too. (the top part of the top is eyelet, right?)
Oh, I love it! How creative AND resourceful. Maybe just a random straight stich going in crazy loopy directions with some rainbow thread at the bottom?? Maybe embroider a flower here and there along the line??
I really like the skirt, but both pieces are great! If you were going to do an applique, I think a flower would look great in the eyelet fabric if you put it out to one side, down towards the bottom of the darker fabric(is it blue or grey? Sorry can't tell because my laptop gives off different colors are different angles). But it's still great on its own!
I think it came out great and think hubby hasn't been to a wedding in awhile if he thinks it looks like a bridesmaid dress. He probably thinks that though because it has clean lines and not alot of detail. A nice simple white embroidery on the blue or a few different shades of blue and white would keep its simple beauty and add the detail. Maybe you will be happier with it after you wash it once or twice as was stated already. It looks like it moves well.
Both pieces are very pretty, I don't see a problem with the skirt. As a non-sexual comment, you have a very pretty back! What is your tattoo, if you care to share? Bright Blessings! Aphrodite Pretty
Aw, you guys! :& I'm all blushing now! Thanks for the suggestions I'm going to have a look around for templates or something. I've put it through a wash so hopefully isn't hasnt shrunk to supermodel size! My friend's asked me to make her an apron top, so... (Oh yeah aphrodite_pretty, tat's of thumper from bambi, had it when I was 17, not really me anymore, got a few that are though )
