Can anoyone please give me a little inspiration? ive newly painted my livingroom in cream and chocolate (not literally!) and i want some funky abstract art for the wall. ive thought of buying a canvas and having a go myself but seem to have left most of my creativity behind with my teenage years. so, does anyone know of any sites where i can get some reasonably priced funky art? Someone has already suggested deviant art, any others? any ideas are welcome. thanks peeps!
I would be happy to knock up a bit of abstract art for you. Also what part of UK are you from? because my friend David in Brighton does some great drip paintings in chocolate and cream colours. but yea i'm up for a bit of internal decorative art. Are you looking for somethin minimalistic like the kinds with squares over squares etc? or something more image based? maybe like a vector type image (the only way i can describe it is the ipod advert only ... not... different colours etc) or more like colour splats or drips.. maybe a colour field (a canvas of one colour maybe changing shades, think mark rothko. Well what ever. I wont charge much, it would be the price of the canvas/es and paint then maybe like £5 /£10 for myself for the work depending on how long it takes me. I usually end up charging about £25 for a average sized canvas (12 by 16 inches) but if im doing a few with the same colour paints it wouldnt be £25 per painting i'd knock a bit off. Well let me know. You can check out my website in my sig but i dont have much "abstract" art on there. However i have a few examples of graphic vector art and paintings ive done. (check in the comisioned section as well as the more obvious sections) Let me know Fleassy x
are the colours your going for in the abstract paintings the same as your colour scheme or, different? because i too wouldn't mind doing some abstract for you, i don't have to use just bright colours can use any colours of your choice! have a loooky on here, www.dandelion-blood.deviantart.com/gallery, you may also want to have a look at my forums gallery i have a number of black and white things too! otherwise, deviantart is a good place to look or.. fleassy she's good too!
Wow, thank you both! I never expected anyone to paint something for me! Thats so great! Im actually looking for two or three pieces of art for different rooms around my house ( i live in south wales by the way). im looking for one for my little girls room, maybe a bit magical and surreal with pinks and lilacs etc. One for my bedroom, which i havnt really thought about yet and the one for my living room. I would like that one quite large, maybe three foot wide by two foot wide. As for colours, im not too sure as i'd like to have it for years to come, rather than just to fit in with my colour scheme. I an definately very interested in both your offers and am prepared to pay for original work. I'll have a think about in more depth and will get back to you. Again, thank you both very much! Im now truly over the moon!
Oh oh where in South Wales, i'm off to uni in Aber in September myself (not south but hey, its wales) AND i'd be so happy to know something of mine was haning up in someones house, did you have a looky at the linky? (Fleassy, i recomended you thats hardly a competative thing to do )
south wales well i never, i thought i was the only one! im from happy go lucky ebbw vale, where abouts are you from? i can speak fluent newport if your from there :> init bruv alas
well heres an example of i apiece i ddi for another litle girl which fits your description: the wings were 3d and came out. The back ground was painted by fingers and has glitter and sequins in it too and the fairy was painted with a fine brush.
oi, i said to you on msn i look so desperate he'll choose yours if anythingg... (he's not replied lately - think we scared him off?)
ive not gone anywhere, ive just been pondering... and im a she! anyway, ive had a thinky about matters and i would be very interested in something from dandelion for my livingroom and something from fleasy for my little poppets room. Right now though i need to get the living room sorted, i'll leave Tylas room till ive decorated it. so dandy, how do we go about arranging this? Ive had a look at that link a few times and your work really reminds me of some of wassily kandinskys, the colours and stuff. Im living about 20 miles outside cardiff, so its quite far from aber (and ebbw vale!)
Both of you gals' art is wonderful and how nice it would be for the poster to have something original for their walls. Fleassy, having a piece of yours is an honor. BUT, I want to butt in here as a crass ex-Texan and say "How can anything be far away in England!?!" I mean, just how long does it take to drive from one end to the other? You made me laugh out loud, you did! Now, I'm sure it's far really; but, it's weird how our perceptions are different when we are from different parts of the world.
hehehe she's got a point i must admit! after seeing the size of america on the map and seeing just HOW far (or not) we;d traveled i will agree.
thats a goood pooint..... *ponders* well i suppose we should talk about what you'd like for your front room, how big etc... and then put research into how i can get it to you! hehe, and when you would like it ready by! and yeah i like wassily kandinsky's work so i wouldn't be surprised i've subconsiously taken inspiration from his work! i take it you like his work then!
ive got a print of concentric circles (i think its called) in my kitchen by wassily kandinsky. About the size of the canvas, maybe 3foot wide and two high. The colous and such i'll leave up to you. The exact colour of the chocolate wall is by crown paint and is called cocoa, to give you something to go on. I mean i dont necassarily want that colour, something contrasting would be good. prehaps you could do a couple of rough ideas on paper and email a pic to me? whatever just let me know and we can go from there. x
