. I finally managed to buy a copy of her "Parallelograms" CD today and played it in my car to and from work. What an album, for once all the positive writing I have read about this album, was true. It has certain innocence and beauty, with a sound that crosses between Sandy Denny, Trees and Joni Mitchell mixed with a slice of Bongwater and White Noise. How this album did not penetrate the music scene at the time? God only knows. All this from a dental nurse! I know that there were quite a few artists that slipped through the net, but she had all the ingredients to have been quite a star. I was just wondering if anyone on the Hip Forums agrees. The fact that she is still with us and enjoying her new recognition is reward enough. I also purchased the Comus CD which I know is going to take a few more plays to get into.
Yep totally agree and what a fantastic album, You might want to try also These Trails - S/T if you like Parallelograms, I did a These Trails interview recently for Foxy Digitalis for further info. http://www.digitalisindustries.com/foxyd/feature_detail.php?id=68 Ah yeah Comus' first album First Utterance is perhaps my all time favourite acid folk albums
