It sounds ok the next item on your shopping list should be a HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM light this gives you light from the red end of the spectrum & encourages your plant to start flowering. The only thing with sodium light is that they get very hot, even 250 watts get hot so you need to think about ventelation, these lights can be expensive but the groth rate of your plant will go through the roof.

i understand the extraction fans and carbon filters. but for getting fresh air into your growroom do you use one of those intake fans that people have in their kitchens?

You need ventilation for other things besides heat extraction.
Marijuana requires fresh air and lots of it. When the plant uses up all the CO2 in the air, growth ceases.
Good ventilation requires intake and exhaust. Determine the cubic feet of your growspace (l x w x height) and get fans whose cf/m match that.
And use an oscillating fan for air distribution and stem strength.

    P.S. HPS is a bargin.
Flo's cost almost twice as much per lumen as HPS, and you'll get 2--3 times as much buds using HPS instead of flo's.
