Help on guestimating an 8th of shrooms

I just harvested my shrooms and I want to take some but I don't have a scale and I don't have enough experience to eyeball an 8th out. Does anyone have a picture of an 8th of shrooms? Approx. how many medium sized shrooms would be around an 8th? I don't care if it's a little more or less than an 8th, I just want to be in the ballpark, so please don't say that it depends on the size, etc., and just give me a straight answer, please. Oh, and btw they are Psilocybe Cubensis B+ strain if that helps.

But it really does depend on size and weight. Just eat a few caps or stems, wait a little, eat some more, etc. As long as you're not eating your entire batch you'll be fine. And even if you did, you'd live. Why not just get a scale though? It's only got to be accurate to the gram. You can get cheap ones lots of places. Scales are good to have handy. It took me awhile to buy one, but now I don't know what I'd do without it.

 

You won't be able to accurately meausure an 1/8 without scales; however, you could line the bottom of standard-sized sandwich bag and LIGHTLY pack shrooms until you've reached about half or three-quarters of an inch tall...that's about as close as you'll get.

 

Weatherman, I just didn't have time to pick up a scale, but trust me, I know their significance. And eat_some_LSD, thanks, that was exactly the kind of info I was looking for, although I didn't quite see it in time. I ended up splitting 5 mediumish mushrooms and a bunch of tiny ones with my friend and I have a feeling we kind of ate a little too much. This was my first time reaching the 5th level and I must say I was not very prepared and now know the importance of a sober sitter when reaching that level.

On top of the shrooms we had a dub of White Widow and a dub of Juicy Fruit, although we got to the point that we couldn't smoke any more (and we are heavy smokers) and we started burning off the excess purely because we found it hysterical... What a waste, I know... We were in my garage for a little while and we thought we were in a box floating in space until we found the door and went outside. Unfortunately, we got scared and attempted to run back inside, until I mistook my friend for a panda and fell on the floor laughing... We truly were disconnected from all reality and from time itself and I remember feeling so accomplished at my discovery that 'everything is'. If anyone is planning on achieving this level I must urge you to have a sitter present, I was so far gone that I could have easily killed myself purely because I truly believed I could do anything and anything was possible. Overall, it was a great experience, though.

 

I must say my friend, that sounds absolutely fucking righteous. Having buds really takes it to another level. I'm actually planning on doing an insane dose in the near future, just to test my limits and shit. Good for you man.

 

You harvest your own shrooms and you don't have a scale?

 

I've been to Level V without a sitter several times; I was with another tripper the first time I got there (no sitters), but after that I just got used to it...

 

hell, cubes are weak, you don't really need a scale. i grew for a long time, and didn't get a scale of my own until very soon before i quit growing (just on a long break)

i ALWAYS used to eyeball doses....course all that ever took them were me and my girl, so i knew what we were after. anyway, standard for me was about 3-6 medium sized mushrooms, 1 or 2 unusually large mushrooms, and 5-8 pretty small mushrooms.....never got too many abhorts, so i never dosed strictly with them. i've heard they're more potent, but i dunno....they're tiny enough they're not worth saving up...it would take a while unless you grow on a large scale, so just eat em with the rest of the crop.

this is a pic of nearly an ounce of FRESH mushrooms on my scales (one of my last grows) which would be good for one lightweight but respectable dose...would dry to about the 2.5-3g range....mind you, these had a low water content, and were about half a day into the drying process, so they are more likely to have been around the 3g area.



you'll want maybe half again as much as this for a good trip, if you have that much to work with.

aborts are worth saving:

we tripped decently on the beach off of 1g of TC aborts each. 1g of aborts wasn't nearly as good as 4g of mature TC though, but it was a trip no doubt.

i've also reached level 5 on a solo trip off off 1.75g of KS aborts made into tea.

 

never heard the term abort.. what does it mean?

 

its a tiny little mushroom that just stops growing while its still incredibly small....usually looks more mature than a pinhead but as far as i can tell it doesnt completely open up or drop any spores. by the time your other mushrooms are ready to pick, the aborts are usually much darker in color, and still a fraction of the size of the rest. they're supposedly far more potent than other mushrooms, but i've never grown on a large enough scale to care to save them up instead of throw them in with the rest of what i'm using.

 

thanks for clarifing that. Yes, from my experience the premature mushrooms, or aborts, are way more potent. I once acquired an 8th of aborts, from a festival, and ate half an eigth, expecting a weak body buzz, and a lot of laughter. I was way wrong. It was one of the hardest trips on mushrooms i have ever experienced. Definently comparable to 4-5 grams of decent mushrooms. I was positive it was laced, but who knows.

 

not premature. the just stop growing. they still mature, i believe. they're tiny usually, about the size of a thumbnail clipping - when FRESH. they're nothing when dried. are you sure you ate abhorts, or did you perhaps eat immature mushrooms of normal size that just hadn't opened the caps to the point of breaking the veil?

 

they were tiny, maybe an inch long each, and the caps were like a quarter of an inch. There were so many in the bag. I got them at hookahville (local festival) though, so unfortunatly, i haven't seen anything similiar since then. But they were definently not normal sized mushrooms. I don't know i split half an eighth with a friend, we got home from the festical at like 12:00 p.m., didn't come down till like 8:00 a.m. It was pretty intense, but fun.
