Niger is the second poorest country in the world and it's experiencing the worst drought its people have ever known. According to government figures 3.6 million people, including 800,000 children under five years of age, are affected by this current crisis.
£10 will pay for vital rehydration salts for 500 dying kids, £50 will feed a family of 7 for 2 months. They are in depserate need of help, u can donate in any highstreet bank or call the Disaaster Emergency Committee on 0870 60 60 900...please do it now.

you have to ask yourself.. why the universe continues to be so unfair to those people who have so little.

Just a wild stab in the dark, but perhaps it's because those who have so much keep fucking them over.

hmmmm... good answer... but those who have a ot still dont have control of the weather.

don't miss understand me.. im not being horrible and i am sympathetic to the cause.
it is just strange that nature seems to have something to say on the matter too.

Another wild stab, but it might have something to do with Niger's location and climate...

If they had the subsidies and the markets 'rich' countries have plus no inter tribal wars going. Maby even other revenue streams [other than farming] as a source of income .. i doubt the weather would be deemed that big a deal..

As peoples lives in this case are inter-dependant on the weather and the other circumstances [imho] effecting the situation ..it does indeed suck big time.

this situation only highlights the fallacy of the G8.
have you read the small print?
    'help' - at a cost...

I just get extremely angry, starvation was foreseen months ago, and as usual we have to see empty bags of skin on bones, with a TV presenter passing his cap around begging the public.

whoosh....wassat.... oh just another multi million $ space flight.......
