And I can't find one around here! I've looked at Hobby Lobby and Jo-ann ETC, but no one there can tell me if they do or do not have them.

So, If anybody knows that these 2 places do have them, where would they be? If not, does anybody have any suggestions for where to look? I'm tired of tying my hemp work to my leg to hold it, and would like to accomplish a more balanced look with some of my peices!

    Thanks!

I use a clipboard and tape. or I make my own board out of cardboard. just cut a slit at the top to hold the knot, and cut slits at the bottom to hole the strings.

Either way works great for me. :)

yeah, I do it by hand too. For some pieces I just tied it at a door handle or a chair. But I am really good at improvising :)

I lucked out and found mine at a thrift store for $2...it even came with T-pins.....try looking around.

You can also make one from a foam ceiling tile....cover it with paper marked out in a grid.

I use a clamp from the hardware store *buy a plastic one so you dont mar surfaces* and then clamp it to any table. Works like a charm :)

Thanks! My wife had suggested just using a clipboard, but I like the idea of the ceilling tile and using slots to hold the carriers and the top knot!

I completely blanked about ebay. I'll check there also!

I had no clue there was such a thing! ha. I use the clipboard and tape method too. Or when I can't find the clipboard, I use a spiral notebook and tape. Tape's my best friend when it comes to macrame.

I learned how by tying the looped end to your big toe, and the base strands to your beltloop, or a drawstring or buttonhole, or whatever you're wearing. It's really easy, and you have everything you need wherever you go!
