i think ghosts are real i guess, tho i've never seen them, but apparenty there was a ghost in me room once when someone stayed and i was out..tho it didn't really frighten me
Nothing personal guys. But I don't see how people can take belief in ghosts, anymore seriously then beliefs in leprechauns. And a ghost isn't any more likely to appear in a drak stormy night where you're all alone, then it is when it's 2pm and you're having some friends over for drinks. I think its inherent in people trying to justify their existance to think about what will happen after they die. You can say it's because I've never 'seen' one. Which is true. I've never seen a ghost, and since I don't believe in them, I'm not going to. I don't believe in an afterlife, so I really can't belive in ghosts. If I am a ghost, I hope I have something better to do then hang out at my old crib and walk around wailing.
Well, anything is possible? I've never seen one but I think they are around. But since the question came up about ghosts, how come we never see the ghost of a caveman or a dinosaur? Just wondering.....
they are there for real!my youngest daughter sees them all the time she talked aleady for years with them sometimes she gets scared if there are "no good ones" i believe they are there and they excist
I belive a ghost is a the spirit of a dead person who didn't manage to get to what the christians call haven, nor he/s didn't come to hell. So instead he/s travels the earth as a ghost.
apparently accoding to this clairvoyant i know, that if someone commits suicide sometimes they don't reach heaven or whatever, still i have no clue anyway, just thought i'd mention :sunglasse
You seem to be saying two things here... 1: That you've never seen a ghost. 2: That ghosts are unlikely to exist and a ghost isn't likely to appear at particular time. Since you have no experience of ghosts then I am wondering how it is you are able to suggest that others are incorrect/wrong for believing in them? I'm guessing that you feel that someone who believes in ghosts is somewhat deluded or irrational? I suggest that to dismiss something when you freely admit you have no experience of it is more irrational and certainly ILLOGICAL. It seems that the conditioned masses reject anything that hasn't been proven by science. Again this is totally illogical and irrational because it implies that the universe is shaped by the word of the scientist. Just because something hasn't been proven doesn't mean it's unlikely to exist.
In the absence of conclusive proof for or against then the only logical conclusion is that there is an equal chance of it being true or false. I would also suggest that there is no real proof for anything. There have been many instances throughout history when scientists have shown established scientific beliefs to be wrong. There is relative/localised truth (i.e. we can assume the apple will fall because we have observed it to do so many times) but beyond this there is no absolute proof of anything. We cannot say that gravity is the only force acting on the apple to make it fall. We cannot say that supernatural forces aren't present to knock the apple from the tree.
i do believe in them, but even if i had seen one, i wouldn't trust my eyes, i mean, the senses can be decieved. i'd need something other than sight to truly confirm their existence
first, has anyone else noticed that the background on this thread is the same as the "real kinky" thread? second, i do completely believe in ghosts.. one lives in my house, keeps to himself though ive seen them plenty other places.. my boyfriend has seen 2 dead children in his uncles house.. ghosts are most definitely real, i guess if you believe.. and loudi- yeah ive seen em on a dark stormy nite, and with a couple of friends..and lots of times when im stoned.. luv ya buddy!
Very True. Well since I don't believe in a spirit, I don't think I could believe that they hang around after death. You're right, abscence of evidence isn't evidence of abscence. But no evidence leads me to believe nothing. Well I probably wouldn't call them that to their face, because it would be impolite, but yes, I consider belief in the supernatural to be irrational. If thats your premise then you have to feel the same way about the Tooth Fairy. I have no experience with the Tooth Fairy, so my dismissal of it is illogical? I've never seen Thor cause thunder. I mean, I know why Thunder happens, but I've never seen Thor bash his hammer amongst the clouds, so is my dismissing that illogical? But if something hasn't been observed, and just testified to, it's existance has to be questioned. Theres no ghost in a zoo anywhere. Ghosts don't emit electromagnetic fields. I've never seen a picture of a ghost that didn't look like anything more then a smudge on film. I don't believe in anything supernatural til I have observed it. Thats common sense. Nothing personal, if you believe it, I can't disprove it to you.
I wouldn't be too sure about that. A friend of mine has a ghost in her house and some of the guys we know were making jokes about her all the time, saying that she is nuts and that there is no such thing as ghosts. She invited them to stay over one night and when the ghost started making his typical round in the loft, making lot's of noise, they all started almost shitting their pants. Only one of the guys actually dared to have a look in the loft, to make sure that it wasn't a hoax ie. that there wasn't another friend up there trying to scare them. It wasn't. They didn't see the ghost, but the sound of it was not possible to deny. You don't have to believe in ghosts to make an encounter. So yeah, I think ghosts are real.
I think you have to be somewhat inclined to believe in ghosts to have a ghost encounter. I don't think hearing some scuffling around in the loft is a sign of ghosts. Sounds more like a sign of raccons to me. I've gone to places that we're supposed to be haunted and haven't seen anything. When people are in a group like that and are prepared to 'hear a ghost' which they we're or else they wouldn't have come over, of course they' hear some kind of sound that would seem like a ghost to them. It's a psychological responce. If you're waiting to hear a noise that implies a ghost with a lot of toher people, someone will hear something, and you'll all convince each other that there is something there. Like I say, don't take my skepticism the wrong way. I just don't believe in ghosts til I see one. If it ever happens, I'll letcha guys know I was wrong.
