i grew up christian and am in the process of finding what i believe....i have a great love for the man and a huge admiration for him...
i am horribly saddened that there are people like you who show the hatred that comes across with dogma....you give christ's love no creedence in your words. and by the way none of your little scripture verses are christ's words...they are all others...

 

Well my spirited little cherub soufflé of Godliness I think a rather apt interpretation of Matthew 7:1 in which the Lord Jesus Christ commands his listeners to "judge not that ye be not judged" would be for you to stop judging me for what God has instructed me to do because your sinful practices cannot begin to stand against the light of righteousness which the Lord has bestowed on His proud yet humble servant who is of course myself. Amen.

If you someday decide to devote yourself to the Word of God more than the 10 minutes a week that the preacher at your liberal evangelical congregation reads from the least offensive parts of his Rainbow Living Bible then you may actually learn that the niceties you quoted were directed at the Jewish Nation before the crucifixion of Jesus which means that those passages although quoted in the New Testament actually applied to the Old Testament dispensation of law.

Rather than focusing on the most warm-and-fuzzy marshmallow brand of Christianity you can find you will do well to take the entire Bible in context as a whole and consider these words of our Lord from Matthew 10:34-41:

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward."

Amen.

 

i am not judging you...not in the least, you put that label on it....i am saying instead that your words are not inspiring...they will not convince people to see your way....they instead put people on the defense...its all about social skills...

There is one point upon which I will agree and that is the fact that God does indeed demand that I continue. In Matthew 28:18-20 the Lord Jesus Christ who was of course God the Father in the form of His Son who was really Himself said: "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

However your claim that "your words are not inspiring...they will not convince people" is no different than those unsaved persons who claim that God would have done a better job of writing the Bible if He were truly that author and finisher of that great Book.

The fact is that any work of the Lord is of course by its very nature perfect and that is a doctrine which is clearly spelled out in both Testaments of the Holy Bible. Amen.

 

why is that so many people arque against the doubt people have for dogma by quoting it? and so often with irrelevent verse, ) and why do we pulled into these arguments anyway, it's so obviously pointless, and why we are treing to argue with someone who has absolute belief in a something so obviously filled with contradictions. Faith is a scary word my friend, it makes people fly plains into buildings and even more horrific things, I hope you find peace even when not in prayer, it is possible

I'm an athesit and I don't really drink much coffee.

Maybe you should cut down on the coffee too... go out for a little sun and go for a jog or something. It'll make you feel more energetic.

 

If the word of god is so true, why cant it be written in a more modern language that woudl be easier to understand?
