hey! i was just wondering if any of the ol' hippies here dyed their hair different colors back in the days ? like pretty rainbow colors..pink,green,blue???? i think usualy like the colored dyed hair is usualy accociated with 'punks' but i was just wondering if the hippies did it too?
I don't know of anyone that put color on their hair but back then anything out of the ordinary was "in". I wore a multi colored bandana once and it rained and when I took it off my hair was all kinds of colors. Had to go to an Allman Bro's concert and had lots of cats tell me my hair was cool!
come on... the whole point of what your trying to do, is express.. dont worry about if youll be 'punk' or youll be 'hippie'.. just do it if you want to.
Most hippys back in the Day were into totally natural stuff. I don't remember anyone dying their hair at all. (Sometimes people would wear funny wigs, really colorful, but not dye their hair.) Even when we are going grey, we just leave it as nature intended, most of the time. Just being honest. I can't remember people dying their hair.
No, J. Airplane But this seems to be missing a verse? "A little bit of soap will wash away any grease"
yes actualy it was recent..sorry just semi related i gues but yea i agree with what he said about going natural.. my beards been grey for years, even in my 20's & people always say i should shave it or dye it cause it makes me loook much older.. but i'm kinda proud of every grey hair, i see it asa sign of experience
yeah i was talkin bout the 60s mostly. was hair dye in those rainbow colors even invented back then?(man i sound young sayin that)
I hitchhiked all over the country from 1969 to around 72, when I somehow ended up in Richmond, VA, and truthfully I can't recall seeing anyone with dyed hair. Tattoos were rare, and so were ear piercings. I didn't see my first nose piercing until 73. As was said before, we were pretty natural. I braided my hair from time to time (longest it got was 26 inches...I have a pic somewhere around) and wore some jewelry, but that's about it.
