About MJ Laws In My State ?

i was reading my state (NY) marijuana laws on this site

anyway it says i can get caught with 25 g or less and its only a civil citation no jailtime just a $100 fine

but says if i get caught with dirty paraphernalia i can get one year in jail

so i can get caught with almost and ounce and the cops cant do nutthin to me but if they find me with a dirty bong or pipe i could get a year in jail ?

am i getting this right ? makes no sense to me

I've got it good here in Ohio, posession of 100 grams or less is a minor misdemeanor (no criminal record) and only punishable by a $100 fine. Despite of these laws I am still going to be very careful.

 

papers arent paraphanelia. you can argue they're for tobacco. its what they can prove, remember that.

 

Correct, but if they also find weed on you, they can prove the papers are marijuana paraphanelia. Same with pipes.

 

No, they can't. They can't PROVE you were going to do something in the future with the items in your possession. Unless it has traces of marijuana on it, it is just a piece of paper that must be discarded as a tobacco rolling item which is perfectly legal.

 

those are max penalties. Laws do not catagorize a triple beam scale and a tin foil pipe, both are the same charge, but a da will not ask for a year in prison for a tin foil pipe.

 

I think we gots the same laws here in Ohio
