Do you go to story hour at your local library? If you don't you may want to look into it. They are always free and a great thing to do with your kids :)

Our story hour is amazing. The volunteer always reads a few books and then does a simple craft with the kids.

Ours is this morning and my kids LOVE it!
It also puts me around other moms so I can try and convert them to cloth diapers ;) LOL

Anyways, just wanted to share this info incase anyone was looking for something to do that is fun and free.

We do that, when they have one.

i haven't met any parents yet, but they seem nice from a distance, lol, and it's good for the kids--Ryvre is slowly learning that "reading time is quiet time" lol, i don't know how many times that lady has had to say that to my kid :p

Can't remember if my parents took us to those. I practically lived in the library anyway and they always read to us.

    Sounds really fun though. :)

I've never actually been to one, but have always wanted to take Sasha. She's old enough now. So when we get to our new town I'll be looking into it. We take Sage to this thing called super saturdays at the library up the street. They have all kinds of cool programs. The first one we went to was a bird show. They had a real live hawk, a snowy owl, and a bald eagle. The last one we went to was a drummin session where the lady had all different kinds of drums and passed them out to the kids. Then we all sat in a circle and she taught us all of these cool drum beats by making up a rhyme to say with them. It was fun.

Somehow, i volunteered for this Saturday's story hour (it was one of those "You'll help, RIGHT?" sort of situations) so now i get to figure out a story AND a craft...so far i got nothin, lol. I think i'm going with a moon theme; there's this book that's kinda cute, about a little boy whose daddy is going away for awhile (so i didn't read the book carefully, haha, i looked at the pics) and he explains that he'll be back when the moon is full, and explains the phases of the moon. I think i can work with that...any project ideas? I don't want to be the lame story lady, lol, though if i am, maybe they won't ask me again ;)
