If your a "Hippie Hater" stay of a hippie site, this site promotes an optamistic and positive veiw of any thing that seems to enter it. Black Sabbath. Iron Maiden have some good tunes as well. I've found some of Celtic Frost's stuff interesting - I like the fact that Tom Warrior isn't afraid to totally break the mold and go from Hellhammer like material to Bon Jovi stuff, or to break with tradition and do violin pieces, or robotic beat making.
...System of a down is just as "nu-metal" as Slipknot or Korn. Granted, I do like SOAD, and even Slipknot. And most people that call themselves metal fans actually listen to real metal, not music made for angsty teenagers.
Slayer and High on Fire are very good too. I am liking this new Doom metal or Stoner metal: bands like Electric Wizard and Atomic Bitchwax. Motorhead are awesome, and my second fave rock band. Though it's not strictly metal, Zeke is the greatest band on earth. Til the Livin End is phenomenal.
SOAD are not angsty teenagers if thats what your trying to say Korn or slipknot arnt even angsty. I'd say Good Charollte's genre are angsty teenagers. Thanx to people that posted on this post, I discovered some good metal bands.
